Great Place to meet people
I find it funny how all these people complaining about the pushy sales rep and the price While I don't disagree with the price being a touch to high. It is a busniess, like everyone else they are in it to make money. They work on comission with like everyone else wouldn't you want to get as many people as possible to sign up? I have had nothing but a great time in E&A. Got to meet some pretty cool people, and do some pretty cool things. Living about an hour from Philly I do have to drive for some of the events, but I know that coming into it, and I do not mind. They take many sugestions of different ideas for events or locations. I have had a great time and wouldn't change anything....

Events and Adventures changed my life
This group has changed my life.\r\rI have been a memeber of E&A since March 2010 and I have had nothing but wonderful experiences. Joining this group was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was out of work, in themiddle of winter in 2010 and we had just put our dog down. I needed to get out, meet new people, have new experiences. Yes, it was a bit pricey but they worked around my financial situation just fine. It has been phenomonal. I have made some of the best friends I've ever had and done things I never would have done before. Shows, horseback riding, singles events, Phillies games, there is something for everyone. I am in South Jersey and now that we have a lot more Jersey members, we've gotten to see a lot more Jersey events on the calendar. The director of the Philadelphia region is one of the nicest, most helpful people I've ever met. Anytime I have a question or a concern, I get it answered right away. You can suggest events and she will make every effort to get them on there. They make you feel like you really are a part of making this group really great. \r\rI have been an active member and I'm quite proud of it. I also am an Event Host for E&A, since August of 2010. I love hosting, it's a great way to make a few extra bucks and get to really interact with members. I'm an incredibly enthusiastic, fun, and postiive person and that's really helped me be the kind of host I think the group deserves. \r\rEvery program or group has it's positives and negatives, but this has been one of the most positive, rewarding, fulfilling experiences I have ever had. I could not be happier to be a part of this group. I love E &A. \r\r

It is a scam! Don't go anywhere near this business.
I was thinking about joining Events & Adventures aka Events, Adventures N' More. But after dealing with the pushy reps on the phone (one even called me and made it so the number wouldn't display, but still left a message which is shady and unprofessional) and reading articles online (including BBB which rated them a C-), I am glad I didn't join. If the sales reps have to go through all of that to sell the service, then what they are selling must not be really that great. It is just bad business. Expensive: One of the articles mentioned that it is $1,500 to $2,000 to join and $30 a month. Then, you must pay to attend each event. That can't possibly be worth it.

Feeling Duped
I heard all kinds of ads for this group on the radio, and was pretty intrigued. I like to go out and do things, but with all of my friends busy with their own lives, it's hard to get everyone together. I emailed and requested information, and like others have mentioned, couldn't get the ""full"" story -i.e actual cost of membership, membership demographics - until I went in person to meet with them. I do not live in an area convenient to their ""Philadelphia"" office - KOP is over an hour away, so that was a hassle to begin with. I guess they feel if someone is desperate enough they'll go. \r\rSo I went in person, and as with everyone else, got the full sales pitch. The person I met with was basically selling me on this club, and how great it would make my life. She evaded questions about the demographics of the group and basically said if I didn't sign up right then, I could forget about it.\r\rI signed up. It seemed like a good idea at the time. There were plenty of things for me to do in the area and I had the time. However not so much.\r\rFirst of all, for the first few events I went to, I felt so ridiculously ripped off as far as the ""meeting people"" aspect goes. It's not because of anything anyone did - the individuals I met were nice enough people. I just am not a 40-something single parent or divorcee. I am a late 20's to early 30's single woman whose friends have all started to settle down. Therefore, I have nothing in common with any of the individuals I met. That's not that bad; I believe the idea is that the club is to meet people, not to match people. I still would have liked to have been told about the overall type of person in the group to be able to make a better decision.\r\rThen, my job changed, and I no longer was working in the Philadelphia area - I am working in NYC. But I didn't move. The membership is NOT able to be cancelled. Fair warning. If you haven't moved to a certain distance away, you cannot cancel your membership. I was told tha...
