Evergreen Nursery

Been in SD for over a decade and have build three new homes. Each time I go to Evergreen for landscape needs, I get poor service. Spend thousands here and now only go if they have specific plants that are not available at other local nurseries. Keep thinking that employees are having a bad day and give them the benefit of the doubt, but each time, I encounter the rudest people including managers and cashiers. The laborers though are all pretty nice. Try to avoid this place as much as possible

We've spent thousands of dollars (yes, thousands) on Christmas trees from Evergreen over the years. This year the tree they delivered had over a dozen broken branches. Worse yet, they had tied the tree back together with string! Although I was originally told that Mike, the manager, would "make it right," after many phone calls he finally told me I could un-decorate the first tree, dispose of it, drive back to the lot and pay another $50 for them to deliver another tree. Rather than take care of an excellent long-term customer, they held on to their $179. Very poor customer service.

I had the worst shopping experience in this nursery. Their register employee and manager are super rude. The prices on the plants are very clearly stated and are deceptive. They had "1 dollar plant" on all the pots of the same plants but yelling at the customer saying you buy it or not, it is not 1 dollar. I would not mind paying more for the plants I like. But the customer service, HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Will never shop there.

This place is horrible. With the exception of just one out of the many people I spoke with, they are nasty, nasty, nasty and completely unwilling to help in any way. If they hate their jobs so much, they should find others.

I went through 3 people looking for help for an issue that I wouldn't have had, had I not taken "their" suggestion for which product to get, and when i finally asked for a supervisor or manager, she was the worst of all. She was defensive, insisted on blaming everybody else and was interested in nothing but arguing. I must have calmly said, "may I please just finish my sentence?" about 5 times because she didn't even listen to what I was asking for. She just kept cutting me off and finally hung up on me.

I really don't mind if people can't help me, AS LONG AS THEY MAKE THE EFFORT. There was no "Let me think if there is someplace else I can refer you to where you can get what you need," it was just pre-determined that nothing was her fault and she wasn't going to step a toe out of her way to do anything to help me. I was legitimately respectful talking to her, simply trying to ask her "I understand you can't do anything, but can you give me any suggestions."

This place is one of the worst places I've ever dealt with. Run away, run very far away. They are not the only game in town.

The staff was not particularly helpful in finding different stock when the few plants in their offered inventory were covered with aphids.
