Our former HVAC man moved away. We had a heater failure tonight. We called him in Iowa and he told us to call Exact Comfort. Mr. David B of Exact gave me three things to check on the furnace. I... did as he told. Cleaned the sensor that was failing and, POOF!, the heater fired back up. What a great guy! Helping a stranger, over the phone, at no cost. We owe him a debt of gratitude and will recommend him to anyone, anywhere, anytime. Thanks David!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Overnight, we lost our AC. Managing a daycare from home with small children, I knew we needed AC pronto. I called Exact and spoke to the owner, David. I was put at ease immediately by his telephone manner, quick wit, and warm personality. He told me that he would be by that day. I agreed, but wondered if he could install 2 AC units and still see me the same day. Calling ahead before arrival, he came as promised, on time, and the service was absolutely phenomenal. He proceeded to explain our dilemma in full detail, replaced our capacitor and outside box with appropriate wiring, and threw in a couple of devices for free (a whip and TDR device). In business for over 2 decades, David is a pro who really knows his trade. He is now our go-to guy for anythiing HVAC and we will purchase our next AC unit from him. We figured he would charge us an arm and a leg for his expertise, but the total price was extremely reasonable. If you are looking for a personable, honest, diligent, service-oriented HVAC guy who knows how to treat his customers, look no further than David at Exact Comfort.
Dave and his crew are a dependable and straight up operation. They have done work at both my business, my family's homes as well as my own house. They are very dependable which is hard to find in businesses these days. I recently upgraded my home furnace and they were the best in town as far as quotes are concerned. I do my homework and then ask for an honest price and quality work, These guys performed and delivered (as they always have) In this recent install, they stuck to their quote even when some extra work/HD trips were required and this made me happy. The "other guys" would have tried to scr-w me. The Boz didn't and he and his men did a fine job. Put Exact Comfort in your smart phone, you'll be glad you did.
"Comfort Without Comprimises" is only one of many sayings I run my company by. As far as our quotes, we stick to them because my word is my word. If I missed something- it is my fault. I never "Nickle and Dime" my customers to death. Short of you setting off a dirty bomb the day after I look at it- I back up each and every estimate I do. Thank You for this review- David Boswinkle President/Owner.
David and Scott both have been with my father and I for years, providing great maintance and service. Recently, I had a total system melt down on my 30 year old system... not a good thing when temperatures were dipping down into the 30's and the furnaces isnt wanting to kick on.... David, knowing money was real tight, fixed the old unit with a new swtich. All was good for a few nights... Then the 30 year old furnace decided to blow an electrical board and died. I called David and old him the symptoms and gave me the bad new that we needed to replace the system, instead of fixing the "turd". I agreed hole heartedly. He worked on several different quotes and senerios that could possibly work with my extremely limited budget. We came to a conculsion on the system and it was in and going strong with in a day and a half. But, the most incredible part of Dave his the heart he puts behind is business and customers...... While we where trying to decided on the system and getting it in, the temperatures at night were going to drop into the low 30's... David took it upon himself, to call me while I was at work, to get my garage door combination, so he could get into the house and "Temperaliy" get the old system to put out some heat so my wife and I wouldnt freeze that night.... and did this with absolutely no charge or talk of charge.... David is my "one call thats all" heating and air buddy for life! USE NO ONE ELSE!!! James in East Cobb
I like to think we take care of our customers BETTER than family. To me, I do nothing or will not install anything I would not put in my parents home in Dunwoody. I have worked for the 4 bigggest companies in Atlanta as a senior tech or supervisor position. Therefore, I have had the opportunity to work on and install most products in the HVAC field. So most of my recomendations are based on experience- no ads or ego. Residential or commercial, big ore small job- I look at each fromt he standpoint of what will work best in that situation and which is the "biggest bang for the buck". Thank You For This Review!! We've used Exact Heating and Air to maintain and replace all of our air and heating units. David Boswinkle (owner) is a pleasure to deal with. Always polite and with smile on his face, he is upfront, honest, and caring. His estimates and pricing are way more than reasonable. When there is a problem, he's there by phone or in person to solve it. Having that relationship with a vendor that knows your particular systems and needs adds extra value that you do not get by calling a company where you never get the same person twice.
They were quick to respond when I called to say I had a problem and came right out to check my AC. They were knowledgable about the problem and made suggestions on what had to be done, but other options we should consider. I heard from my neighbor that they were very friendly and honest and I completely agree. I highly recommend them.
I am in the "service" industry and nver forget that. I also remmember that I work for YOU! Some of my competitors have forgotten that. I have been fortunate enough in doing HVAC in Atlanta for over 20 years to also to make alliances with other small business owners such as Ken Oliver of the Ventalator/Insulation King, that you can benefit from. I fix the immediate problem that my customer has, but always give options that will be cost-effective and save them money in the long run. It is not all about the sale- it is ALL about the long-term relationship I have with my customers. Thank You For this review! David Boswinkle-Owner/President
In calling Exact Comfort after an aggressive amount of over the phone estimates with other AC & Heating companies I spoke with David personally with no holds, transfers or machine answering services. Being that last fall I had Moncrief service my unit after the coils froze over and caused mild damage the tech from Moncrief was able to fix the freezing but he told me that the expansion valve had a defect/damaged and I should replace that to have the unit run at full strength. At the time I could not afford the repair and settled with the band-aid. Well in calling Moncrief they gave me two estimates, to replace the likely issue that was the expansion valve would be $765 and to replace the whole coil unit would be $1355. When I called David (President of Exact Comfort) he quoted me $400 (4 other estimated were not even close) for the full service and was true to his word. He was the first and only one who fully admitted that my coil was under warrantee and could be replaced at NO part cost to me (unlike the attitude of Moncrief and others) and only entail the labor that would be close to 3-4 hours. He was clean, respectful and professional who not only did what he said he would but also recognized a safety issue with my duck work leaving my AC unit and spent another 30 mins redoing it to be safe. He is a man who cares and made me feel comfortable having in my home. I would recommend Exact Comfort in a heartbeat.
At Exact Comfort, we have been in business for 10 years this month (8/2012) and we never forget that we work for you. This is why our slogan is "We treat you BETTER than family!". YES! We are in business to make a living, but value is just as important to me as it is to you. I am the 1st to try to get anything out of ANY vendor-especially warranty. On top of that, this customer is a Active duty US MARINE- being a Vet myself- We take care of our own! Now do not mistake that statement- they did not get any "SPECIAL" treatment. We go above and beyond as needed on every call! Unlike some of my competitors, I LOOK AT EVERY JOB FROM A CUSTOMERS STANCE AND DO NOT KNOW EVERYTHING!-but I know how to get answers quickly-case in point with this customer. We are also not trying to be a "one-stop shop" like alot of other companies. We are concearned primarily with your homes comfort systems efficency and performance in keeping you comfortable and safe. (With the subject of safety in mind the ductwork mods this customer stated was actually Exhaust pipe from the gas furnace that was not only run the wrong direction of flow, but also had flamable tape on the joints that were cut too short to reach-therefore taped. I removed ALL of this and re-ran it correctly at no charge-why u ask? I do not nickel and dime my customers and want to keep them out of the hospital!) I cannot blame anyone for trying to make a living, but would a 5 minute phone call to a vendor in this case to see if the coil was under warranty be asking too much for the tech on site? I was not even there and found out the coil itself was still under warranty within 10 minutes-how? With ONE call. This is why I ALWAYS say before you replace ANY equipment CALL ME! I ALWAYS DO A FREE SECOND OPINION ON CONDEMEND(UNFIXABLE) equipment. If they are correct and it cannot be fixed-99.9% of the time, I will beat their price. The .1% is only when the other company is quoteing builders grade crap- I do not install that in your home. I would rather LOOSE MONEY than have to face you in a few years with bad news again due to sub-standard equipment! If there was not a difference-why would they make more than one grade of equipment? Thank You For This Review! David Boswinkle- Owner/President
Dave and Todd installed a new system for my house, 2nd level. We scheduled an install a couple days in advance. I ended up having to cancel due to work and Dave accommodated w/o issue. Prior to the install date Dave confirmed we were still set for install. Dave and Todd arrived on time and install went great, took a couple of hours... from morning til about noon. Another note, Dave noticed the registers were backwards on some of my rooms so it would disrupt the flow of air in the bedrooms. I'll be flipping those around soon. In another house (newer house), I had a problem with a room that was getting little air/heat. I asked Dave about it and he gladly gave me help over the phone. He showed me how to install some dampers in the supply line to redistribute the flow to accommodate the furthest bedroom. I installed one damper a few days ago and it works like a charm. Dave gave me two dampers free of charge (I offered to pay for the dampers, but Dave was nice enough to just let me have them... thanks Dave!) I'll most likely add the 2nd damper in the coming days. Overall I'm very happy with the service and equipment I've received. I'll be referring Dave to anyone I know that needs AC or HVAC type service.
Todd and I worked together at a major company here in Atlanta. I have the luxury of picking the best of the best and I think I do so. Exact Comfort has been in business for 10 years this month(8/2012) I have always been at every installation, obviously by choice and NOT because I do not trust my techs- I try my best to not only personally educate my customers on their comfort choices but also make them realize when someone is feeding them bull. We do not try to "re-invent the wheel or nickel nd dime folks to death" We have simple and cost-effective solutions to comfort issues. It is the simple fixes that usually do the best-cost wise and operational wise. I learned a LONG time ago you can not run a company with the "hit and run" tactics! I want long-term happy customers that have no reservations about refering us to their freinds and family members. I think my actions speak volumes towards that. Thank You For Your Continued Patronage And This Review! David Boswinkle-Owner/President
I couldn't be more pleased with the service Exact Comfort has given us!! We have used them for the past couple of years and they have been quick to our needs and a pleasure to deal with not to mention the value we received. I feel our previous A/C company would have left my family remain hot longer and charge us more. I am definitely calling them again and again!!!
Some companies have forgotten that they are a "Service Company" first and a conditioned-air contractor second. At Exact Comfort, we have not! Our job is to keep your home efficently comfortable- that does not mean to try to sell you new equipment everytime you see us. It means to get the most efficency and life out of the equipment you have. As far as waiting for us- just because company is bigger than us, it does not mean they can get there faster or do better work. Thank You For This Review and your continued patrnoage. We will strive to continue to exceed every expectation-if not, please call me directly! David Boswinkle- Owner/President
If you want a detailed Full Service on your AC system Scott at Exact Comfort is the one to call. On time, courteous, informative, thorough, and honest. Extremelly satisifed and I would highly recommend Exact Comfort to anyone.
Thank You for this review. Scott has been with us for 2 years and is a valued employee! I proudly say I helped train him, however his work ethic and attention to detail cannot be taught- it has to be vased upon the fact that he cares about his work and it shows! Thank You again for this review! David Boswinkle-President/owner
On Thurs, I put aside my life to meet with Exact to get a quote on replacing BOTH of my air conditioning units and furnaces. He arrived 2 hours late, didn't bring a flash light and didn't bother to go under the crawl space to look at what he would be replacing. He spent more time in my driveway chatting about people he knew in his past life. Monday rolled around and I had heard nothing. I sent in a request telling them I had not gotten a quote. Today is Thursday (a week later), and I have no quote. The other two companies got my quotes to me within a few days. This company must be full of billionaires b/c they didn't bother. They only wasted my time.
I never like to be negative on my responses, but if you listen to this person it was like they brought their home to me and I did not have to spend time or gas to come to them. I will adress these concearns in order-First, I did send this person a quote via e-mail as requested the very next day. Maybe it is in their "junk" box. I personaly prefer to bring it back in person so all the details can be discussed. Second, I did give this customer a courtesy call telling them I was running late and they were fine with it at the time. Third, I brought a flash light, but the bulb blew in their driveway. Fourth, Crawlspace installs are pretty generic and you size the furnace due to the size of the a/c. Unless they went under there and ripped apart all the ducts-there is not much difference in crawlspace installs-transitions/furnace/coil/flue/drainline/lineset-not alot of difference in price. I told this person this when I was there- ONLY COMMISION BASED SALESPERSON MAKES MOUNTAINS OUT OF MOLEHILLS! Fith- I do not know who I met in a past life- I am only concearned about this one, I did tell this person that I have been fortunate enough to meet quite a few local celebrities and fix things using common sense/cost effective solutions. 2,3,4 and 5 only go to proove "selective hearing/memory" is dominant in this persons case. I have no reason to lie and no reason not to send them a quote(This is how I make my living-not off of millionaires-sorry to disapoint). Obviously this person did not like or did not get very good quotes from the other companies. If my quote was so important a phone call would have cleared this up quickly. Good luck in your future ventures with the other companies. I am sorry if you feel I have "wasted" your time, if I gave the quote to you in person as I wanted to- alot of this would not be needed. I promise not to "waste" any more of your time. Thank You for this review-David Boswinkle-President/Owner. UPDATE-8-2012- STILL NO RESPONSE FROM THIS PERSON-
If you want someone whose highly skilled and honest, David's your guy! He owns the company as well and takes pride in his work. I'd had 2 other companies out here (Casteel and Estes) and didn't like how they treated me or their solution to my problem. I later found out from David that their technicians work on commission so of course they will give you the priciest solution to your problem. I had a leaking evaporator coil on my Carrier, and the other companies told me I needed to replace the entire air handler. and they told me my unit (less than 5yrs old) was out of warranty. I hesitated going w/ these companies after talking w/ some friends and reading some things on the internet that also recommended I just replace the coil, not the entire air handler. I'm glad I hesitated b/c otherwise I never would have met David (or Boz, as his friends call him:). he is so knowledgeable and is glad to explain complicated technical things to you. a friend recommended David b/c they said David came to their house and fixed a loose wire in their unit, which he could've told them it was some huge repair instead. They said he was honest, up front, and very skillful. and that is exacty what I think after having him come out and fixing my a/c. he was able to get my coil still under warranty and I paid for just labor and freon. it's 90deg outside, and finally my inside temp is a cool 72deg again! I'm glad i waited for him! would highly recommend exact comfort!
Thank You For this review. I like ot think People call HVAC techs because we are suppossed to be the professionals. Lately some do not seem that way. If you want to see the difference. Call and have myself or Scott come out and take care of any concearns you may have. As far as how other companies pay their techs- I told this customer that is how it seems- in the time it took them to try to sell her a new system, the one she had could have already been fixed under warranty! Thank You Again for this review!-David Boswinkle- President/Owner And Yes- A.K.A."BOZ"
David installed my furnance and pump and did a great job. But pump flooded basement. No return call back
I honestly wish I knew whom this customer was so I could see why they did not get a call back? We have had phone "issues" earlier this year and had not gotten some messages. We also do rarely install a pump with just a furnace, usualy it is with a complete a/c system where it is needed most- there have been a few instances where customers have gone to LOWES or HOME DEPOT and bought a $40 pump and asked us to put it in with the furnace. If this is the case, I am sorry it flooded your basement but we cannot be held reponsible for a pump you did not buy from us- that is why we do not sell the "cheap pumps". I would bet this is the case because if it was our pump and did fail- ours are commecial pumps with safety switches that would shut the A/C off before it would flood any space. EITHER WAY-PLEASE FEEL FREE TO CALL ME DIRECTLY SO WE CAN DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH YOUR PUMP-770-912-0552. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION IS MY #1 GOAL!-David Boswinkle- President/Owner
David owns the company, taught HVAC at a tech school, and is the most knowledgeable tech that’s been to my house. Affordably repaired my father-in-law’s A/C (burned-out wires/relays only); didn’t take advantage of him. Has worked for big-name contractors in the past; knows that some have paid techs a commission on installed parts. Gave me a free second opinion that helped explain my years of compressor problems. Lucidly discussed a number of things that could cause it, and why. Other techs threw bandaid parts on it or said “You need this or that” but didn’t really explain why. David also said my inside unit was using smaller air filters than normal, maybe because original intake hole below furnace was cut too small. Encouraged me to call him as much as needed to compare apples to apples between other bid and his. Price was the same for comparable equipment, but took his advice and paid about $170 more for more durable condenser. Knowing he’d be the expert installing it was very reassuring. Extra things he did on the installation for NO EXTRA CHARGE: * COMPLETELY REMOVED FURNACE and cut bigger intake hole in deck! * TURNED FURNACE UPSIDE-DOWN to install air-filter clips on bottom for correct-sized filter. * Installed drain-line access point to check water flow. * Even added short extension to my WATER HEATER exhaust pipe! Thoroughly exceeded my expectations! If David comes to your house you’ll get the top of the ladder in experience, knowledge, and honesty.
I have been in the HVAC field in Atlanta for over 20 years, have worked for companies such as Shumate, Coolray and Peachtree in a supervisor/senior tech capacity. I did attentend and then teach for a short period at Dekalb Tech Institute. I would hope by now I could take that experience and use it towards aiding in your comfort level- and I do. I was in the U.S. Navy and pride myself on "Attention to details" such as what this customer has pointed out- there is no reason to install a piece of equipment in an application if that application will not benefit the customer. I prefer to "educate" my customers and not just "sell". The only thing I cannot fix is "buyers remorse" so I ALWAYS welcome a customer to shop around and make sure they know they are getting the best price for what they are getting from us. As far as the $170 difference, in this economy and times- if there was not a difference between "base model/builders grade" equipment and "Premium" equipment, why would a manufacturer goto the expense of make 2 diffent lines? Just because the warranty is the same, does not mean the equipment is. As my father once said "There is a difference between HAVING a warranty and NEEDING one." Feel free to contact me when you are in the market for a new comfort system and I will be happy to show you what I am talking about-just like I did with this customer. Thank You For this review!
