This is the worst experience buying glasses I have ever had. I came there for a pair of miraflex frames for my 1 yr old. After waiting almost a week for them to come in I was given the wrong size. I called and went in only to be told that it was normal for them to "fall off" my childs face. I had to wait for his follow up at optho for them to write a note for Atlanta eye wear to replace with appropriate size frames. Again a week later I was given a pair too small. On the 3rd attempt they finall gave the right frames. 3 months later the lenses are so scratched my son can not see out of them. I called for new lenses and was told they would be in that friday but when I called they were not there. I was told they would call the lab and call me back, 7hrs later I had to call them back and was then told they would have them on Monday. My son is facing eye surgery if glasses do not help his eyes and I have wasted over 5 months dealing withe their icompetence. Please save yourself the headache

First I must say I am a very very happy patient of Dr Menon. I have been seeing her for many years after moving from Thomas Eye group. I love her. This review is in fact about Atlanta Eyewear which is connected to their office. Do not be fooled by what appears to be friendly service. I spent hours sitting in their waiting room after having to come back time and again due to mistakes made by their staff. These include trying to pass of an inferior coating for the top crizal I had requested, the twisting of the lens when they cut it to fit my frames upsetting the prescription, a scratch on a lens which then had to be ordered again, then the substitution of an inferior 1.5 plastic lens for the ordered 1.67 high index. When I discovered the switch I was told I did not need anything better even though I had paid for high index and with my high astigmatism can make a definite difference. When all their mistakes were going to start costing them money to remake the lenses yet again I was told they were letting me go. Letting me go! The customer who had sat patiently through all their mistakes. Be very careful here - I am sure it is not just me they are trying to palm off inferior products. Let the buyer beware and do not believe anything they say. I for one will never go back.

Personally, I don't believe there is any eye-care facility in the metro area that provides better services and care than Dr. Gordon and the Eye Physicians and Surgeons staff. Dr. Peter Gordon, his support staff and the staff at Eye Physicians and Surgeons were very professional and made me feel I was the most important patient in his care. Dr. Gordon removed cataracts from both of my eyes within a three-month period. He listened to my concerns and responded to each one. At no time, did he make me feel that my concerns were unimportant or stupid. I attribute my successful surgeries -especially the lack of complications-to Dr. Gordon and his staff.

The doctors may be able to heal the blind, but I wouldn't know due to the awful treatment I got from reception. Went in an attempt to become a new patient & was treated with rude indifference by the lady behind the counter. Told me that she didn't know if they took VSP. (VSP is only the most popular vision insurance out there). After she checks on the box of donuts behind the counter she turns & semi-shouts "Are you just a new patient, or do you have a problem?" I'm sitting there with a pair of broken glasses in my hand & all of my insurance documentation. And I said "Both." Then she snaps, well the doctor isn't here yet & I'd have to check to see if we take VSP. I then proceed to leave & she asks if I want to schedule another appointment. I said "But you don't take VSP." To which she replies "Well I think some of them do." Goodbye Eye Physicians & Surgeons....I look forward to using your parking lot when the new Fox Brothers joint opens next door. Good luck with your rude business model, I hope it serves you well.

I apologize that you had a bad experience with our office on Saturday and do appreciate the feedback. I am using your review to counsel, train and improve our services. We have a limited schedule on Saturday with only one doctor in the office. Because Saturday appointments are popular the schedule is usually full. Although it was poorly explained to you, the schedule was full, and when this happens, it is necessary to ask the doctor if we can add a walk-in for a routine eye exam. On weekdays, there are several doctors in the office to accomodate walk-in patients, but it is usually best to schedule an appointment, especially on Saturday. I had a great experience with them. Their consultation was free, and i hope to get lasik very soon! Betty helped me through the process and was very friendly. The rest of the staff were nice and efficient. Highly recommend them!

As a follow up to my scathing review of last week, I did hear from an office manager and was given a refund check. This does not change my view of surgical competence of this group (at least for non-standard procedures), but does show that they do follow through where money is concerned.

I have been a patient of Eye Physician an Surgeons or the Rice Fite Mcdowell group from the 1960's. Just wanted to say I have had several exams with Dr Gordon, and certainly don't recall him or any of the other three physician I have visited within the group being arrogant or pompous. Actually did not come here to write a review, but was looking for a link to send to a friend recommending this group for his surgery. I just took exception to this post. I had worn glasses for 50 years an when I needed cataract surgery Dr McManus handled the operation an had an implant at the same time. No more glasses now an my vision is now the best of my life. Highly recommend and believe they are the best in the Southeast.

I have seen a couple of doctors in the practice and they have been great. Dr. Peter Gordon did my lasik surgery and I can see more than perfectly and have had no side effects. I would trust him with my eyes again. They stayed open on a Saturday for my husband who hurt his eye in an accident. Great practice.

My family & I have gone to this group for years and have been happy with the care we've received. Dr Thomas is very good, especially for retinal problems. Dr. Gordon on the other hand, is an arrogant, pompous snob with absolutely NO bedside manner. I'd never go back to him again or recommend him to anyone.

My husband and I have been patients at EPS for 35 years, back before Drs. Rice, Rowell, McDowell and Fite became "EPS." We've always found it to be a great group of very caring, competent doctors and staff.
