Would definitely return..., 3/19/2012

I have been to Fairplay Horse & Mule twice, and I would recommend the folks there for persons in the area looking to purchase a horse. I've seen people consign horses with them (or trade horses) in... which the horses they are using to barter were underweight or not in the best condition. How many horse sellers do you know would take the time to pull the horses from the active sale horse listings and care for them to ensure they are 100% healthy and sound? \r\rI never had an issue with them when I was there. I was especially grateful to see underage riders wearing (and required to wear) helmets when riding horses or ponies as well. \r\rThey offer trial periods, payment plans, and more and are true horse people.

own Fairplay Horse and have operated, 1/14/2012

own Fairplay Horse and have operated it for 13 yrs. I was recently made aware of a very negative review that is completely false and slanderous. This was made over 5 yrs ago and if memory serves me... correctly that was a time when a competitor was being rather unethical. We offer good quality horses at reasonable prices. We have a long list of many happy customers including many repeat customers. Trial periods are available. We would welcome your visit! Have a very blessed day!

We have purchased many horses over the years from here

Just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Lynn and the staff of Fairplay. We have purchased horses over the past few years and have been very happy with each one. BUT, there has not been one that could compare with the wonderful horse they found for my son this past May. After he lost his horse, we were worried we would never find him a horse that he would approve of. We were worried that he wouldn't ride again after her death. Lynn found a horse that he approved of. He got on her and wouldn't get off. He has spent many hours this summer riding her. She is the most absolute perfect horse. Thank you, Lynn, for all the help. You made one young man very happy.

I would definitly recommend them to everyone!

We were impressed with the trial period and follow-up provided after we brought the horse home. The staff listened as we described what we were looking for in a horse and knew just the right one to suggest. We most certainly would buy another horse from your farm and have suggested that others visit as well. Thanks from another happy family

Don't Give Them Your Business

I went to this horse dealer to buy a horse. They told me he was under saddle and new his leads. When I got there they explained to me it was his second time with a saddle on and that he picked up the right lead in the round pen. I should have run but instead purchased another horse. He cribbed, took me literally 30 minutes to bridle the first few weeks, and was a stopper at fences. Buyer beware.

BUYER BEWARE!

I have known 6 people who have either purchased horses from this establishment or taken them on a trial basis. 3 ended up dead of various diseases or accidents on their property within weeks, the others were deemed seriously unsound by veterinarian checks. Save yourself a broken heart and go elsewhere. And, if you have had a similar experience, contact the Department of Agriculture with your complaint. Horses are routinely drugged while potential buyers try them. My heart breaks for these poor animals that are traded as chattel with no consideration whatsoever for their health, welfare or happiness.
