I am writing to warn others about the business of John's Family auto service located on the corner of 40 and 12 NW Pine Ave. I pulled into his shop via a young girl advertising a sign that read: A/C... check only $14.95. I pulled up into his auto bay and he check my A/C unit. Now, the car was blowing cold air and I just wanted a check since the outside temperature was nearing 100 degrees. He preceded to inform me that that I needed two cans of R-134 and he emptied two cans of R-134 into my A/C system. At once, the compressor stopped working and started blowing hot air. He charged me $27.00 for ten minutes worth of work and told me that my compressor was broken. Once upon arriving home, my Father and I hooked up a A/C charging gauge and we discovered that the system was overloaded with R-134. After recalibrating/recovering the A/C system, the A/C started blowing cool air once again. Is this the type of business that is located across the county court house that the citizens of Marion County need or want for the business community in these recessionary times? I pulled into his shop based on good faith; instead, he shamefully sells me two cans of unneeded R-134. Is this type of selling good for the environment? I urge any and all of you to take your business elsewhere.
