We have used Fantana Farm and Kennel twice now when traveling to the Covington area and then continue on. We much prefer the level of care, accommodations and value that FF provides over the kennel we use in Northern VA. We pay for the bath and they do a terrific job, which is important when spending 10 hours in the car with the dog driving home! Thanks!!

Fantana Farm and Kennel has been a fabulous choice for my two dogs. My pups are fed the food that I send and extra amounts are returned to me. The toys and towels that I send are not only returned to me, but have obviously recently been laundered, a step that other kennels certainly do not take. Vet records are required for my animals annually, which I appreciate. Their rates are MORE than fair and are not based on the number of runs that your animals occupy. The facilities are clean, smell fine, and are secure. Do my dogs come home dirty? Absolutely! I wouldn't have it any other way as that means that they've spent their time running and playing in the fields as opposed to sitting on a concrete or gravel run floor all day. I happily pay for the "go home bath" to save myself that step. Fantana has even been careful enough to bathe my dogs only during appropriate temperatures. One visit, we were planning to pick them up on a crisp morning and the girls hesitated to bathe my dogs outside in the cold morning hours. They chose to handle it the afternoon before when it was warmer and even called to verify with me that it was acceptable to be a day early with the bath. My dogs are well known by the the girls who work for Fantana, despite the fact that we are only there a few times a year. We drive almost two hours round trip from our home, pass a number of other kennels along the way, and will continue to do so when our pups need outside care

We have trusted our dogs to Fantana for several years. We usually travel with our dogs, but when we can't we take them to Fantana. Our younger dog(a rescue) with several issues including arthritis and nervousness without her brother (our older dog)had an issue on one visit. Not only did the staff explain to me what was going on with her when I called, but gave her special treatment. They treated her and let her be the office dog with plenty of tlc. My older dog loves to run and play and can do that with no problem. They can both run and play and do what dogs love to do!

My boys have been to Fantana numerous times without any issues. They love running in the fields. I usually call the day before pickup to ask if it has rained during their stay. If the answer is yes, then I pay for a bath. My boys are so exhausted from playing hard that they sleep for two days when they get home. They love the staff too!

I picked up my dogs after a 10 day stay. My dogs have bare spots and injuries all over their bodies. The pup has a 1 1/2 inch scar on his jaw line and raw elbows. Pup also has a food allergy and seems to have been eating something other than the food I provided. The older dog has a bleeding wound on her rump and something matted around her ear and eye...and I DID pay for the bath. I know that the dogs "play" with each other, but it seems that it was allowed to get too rough. UPDATE: Owner called and was very understanding about my concerns. A portion of the kennel fee is being refunded just in case I feel the need to take the dogs to their vet. I'm pleased that they tried to make things right and that that the health and happiness of my dogs was also important to the kennel staff.

I boarded my two dogs at Fantana Farms recently, when I picked them up they seemed happy and healthy, as I lef them. However, they were filthy, it had been raining in Georgia that week and the dogs had caked mud all over their bodies. This clearly indicated that it was not a ONE DAY thing. They had obviously been sleeping (in cold, damp weather) with the day's mud on them that entire week. Upon getting them home, I had to take them straight to a bath which took us more than a half hour of running water through them to get all the caked mud out of them. I would think in a situation like this, a damp towel at the end of the day to remove the wet mud from their bodies before they settled for bed, would have been appropriate. My smaller dog looked like a little pig and both my husband and I felt so sorry for leaving the dogs and finding them in that condition. Other than that issue, it seems they fed them the food I had brought for them, and the dogs appear to have enjoyed their play time with other dogs. I would not expect a bath (they charge for that and may not have been necessary every day) but at least, a wipe-down to make sure they did not sleep and remained with all that mud on their coats for so many days. I am not giving Fantana a bad review, as they seem to be very caring and attentive to the dogs, however, I was disapointed with this one issue.

I have worked at Fantana Farm and Kennel for almost two and half years as the kennel manager. We strive to do our best with each and every dog that comes to stay with us. I apologize to both upset customers and I am very familiar with both cases. Please, if you are looking for a place to keep your dog, visit our website and view the testimonials. We hope to hear from you.

I took my great dane to FF&K twice. The first time he was only there for 2-3days and when I picked him up his footpads were 'raw'. He was in so much pain,he could not walk up stair for a day. I had to carry him. The second visit was a 4-5 day duration. I called on day 2 and they said he had diarrhea for a day but was doing fine.I called again at the end of his visit before picking him up and when I picked him up...he lost 8.5lbs, had severe diarrhea, and was severely dehydrated (oh and he had raw footpads again). They told me they gave him OTC anti-diarrhea medication(not approved by me to give). I don't understand why they did not tell me he was so sick(when I called) I am very disappointed in the service provided to my pup. They should be careful because they can kill a pet like this. Be careful with Fantana Farm and Kennel, they almost gave my pet a grave!

I have 5 dogs, 3 which are very large bloodhounds, and I have never had a problem. They are wonderful there and I would never think twice about leaving my babies with Fantana. My dogs have lots of fun there and get lots of attention. THANKS FANTANA!!

I'm guessing the other reviewer didn't disclose the "real" reason they couldn't take her 49 lb. dog. I've used Fantana for years with my 3 dogs ranging from 73 - 140 lbs. with no problem. Even my female who is very alpha with other females...no problems. Great job of matching up playmates based on temperaments.

we take our 2 great danes, a 130 lb and 115 lb - to Fantana Farm and we have never encountered any issues. Our dogs LOVE it there. Try keeping your dogs in a place like this in Atlanta, there is nothing to compare it to and the dogs love running around in the fields!

We took our dog here three times, but when we called to make reservations the fourth time, we were told they couldn't take our dog because the staff couldn't handle her around other dogs. She is a 49 pound dog who gets overly excited when she sees other dogs (not including our own dogs). They were not willing to keep our dog separated from the others, with the exception of our other dog, which would have been fine by us. I can't believe a staff at a kennel can't handle a non-biting, 49 pound dog.
