BE AWARE and DO YOUR REASEARCH! We used this company for many years, very good paying customer! Several issues which owner STEVE talked away to keep us paying. Monitoring was based in California and... they actually had wrong phone numbers assigned to us for several years. For the last few years alarm was not responded to. When service CANCELLED the owner STEVE would not allow us to have the installer code to disarm alarm, we accidentally activated. STEVE actually hung up on us when we were in distress from active alarm. Way to keep the clients coming back STEVE. This is WORST customer support/service I have ever experienced, and I'm not young!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Funny how STEVE FERRER'S website boasts that you'd be an idiot to sign a contract- Guess that includes me, one year and two months ago. This contract is ridiculous at that- to cancel, I must send a certified letter, three months to the date of the anniversary that I signed it? So that's right, when this year mark came up and I tried to cancel, they wanted me to pay all of 2011's monitoring as means of cancellation! Hey Steve- What goes around, comes around.
I have now used Ferrer Sercurity to pucharse and install security systems in two homes. Both experiences were great! Steve Ferrer has been fantastic. He's honest and reliable. He gave us a no-nonsense proposal, making recommendations to fit our needs and budget and took care of everything down to the last detail. Our first install was about 5 year ago. Since then, as I said, we moved and purchased another system. In the meantime, when I've needed service (we did some extensivie remodeling which necessitated some changes in the system) Steve has been right there to take care of everything. For your security needs, you need someone you can trust. I trust Steve explicitly. Do yourself a favor and give them a call. You won't be disappointed. Thanks, Steve! You've got a customer for life here!
We just purchsed our new home and we wanted an alarm system. My in-laws currently have Ferrer and told us how great the company was. I was skeptical, but when Steve came out here, it was great! He is so down to earth and easy to talk to and he explains everything to you and let syou know upfront about anything. He IS NOT a member of the BBB, I do not believe in paying a company just to say your "OK", do you know how many companies are horrible who are part of the "BBB"? Ridiculous. Steve was great, he came out here, fixed us up and when we had a glitch, he came right back out and fixed it the next day and it has been perfect ever since. I would highly recommend Ferrer Security to anyone who is looking for an alarm system. ::Kristin & Randall Morris::
The owner (Steve Ferrer) said "no contract" and "cancel anytime". That's a trick! Sure you can buy the alarm and cancel anytime. But they fix the alarm in such a way that OTHER companies can't monitor it. I found this out because I had 2 come out and look at it and they both said that's what Ferrer did to it. Bait and switch! Now, I found out there IS a way to get it monitored by another company, you just have to pay for a upgrade. I intend to do that but I think it is rotten that I have to pay to do that since I own the alarm, paid in full. But I will be darned if I am going to keep paying Ferrer Security $20 every month when I can get it monitored for only $9.95. Another thing, the alarm is nothing special. Just like all the others out there, maybe not even as good as some. I really wish I had called someplace else.
I've been a customer of Ferrer Security for over 6 years and the service has been outstanding. I have a wireless system that was installed by another provider. Ferrer is always there for me when I need service and they take the time to find and resolve issues. I have and will continue to recommend them to others.
I have had this company for years and know them to be of highest integrety. My calls have been responded to promptly and service has been the best. I have read the posts and I smell a rat. It is obvious that one person is posting these negative comments. It's abnormal to see that many post with similar content in weekly submissions. I know that Ferrer Security does not do these things. 3 of my neighbors use them and we have discussed this and agree that this is an outstanding company. I refer them to everyone.
Firstly, I regret not checking with the Better Business Bureau in Atlanta before using Ferrer Security. The BBB gives Ferrer an "F" rating, and there is reason for that. While it may appear that "Ferrer Security" is some "company" it is really just a one man outfit I have found. Our installer also turned out to be "Steve" the owner, so it is all just a show. I am not sure where to begin, our experience was so bad. For starters, the alarm kept going off without anyone calling or showing up. That happened several times. One time, the monitoring "station" called and they did not even know our address. Apparently Ferrer subcontracts the monitoring to some place in another state that doesn't have a clue. Very unprofessional. When we called about some of these problems, we kept getting the run around from some answering center. Our calls were either not returned or not returned right away as promised. What's the point of an alarm if it isn't working? When my wife and I finally decided enough was enough, we called another company to come out and monitor our alarm. We were very surprised when the other company told us that Ferrer had RIGGED our alarm (which we PAID for) so it could NOT be monitored by anyone else. How sneaky is that? Fortunately, the new company only charged us a small amount to replace a part so that they could monitor the alarm. We are now thankfully RID of Ferrer Security and our alarm monitoring is now roughly HALF the cost that "Ferrer" charges.
I have been with this company for years and must say i don't have any complaints. When I recently had a service issue they came out the next day and beat me to my home after I got off work and waited for me to get there because I was stuck in traffic... The service team is always friendly and professional... I have even referred them to my mother as well..
I would never use this firm again. Contract difficult to cancel, central station did not appear very professional, and overall I feel better choices out there. Check with BBB and your state's office of consumer affairs.
I have been a customer of Ferrer Security for almost 4 yrs now. Although they did not install my security system, they have always provided me with timely service calls. They are very reliable and I have been very pleased with their service.
I have been with this company for several years and have never been fully satisfied with the service. On one occasion, the service reps asked someone performing a service in our home (who had accidentally set off the alarm but could have been a criminal!) to look through our documents to determine our county of residence since they couldn't figure it out. Return calls take anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour to never when the alarm goes off. The service rep is barely competent, the hardware is somewhat cheap, and the company never responded to a request for service. The phone numbers on the website don't work or only connect to an answering service, so the company itself can avoid your call. They have my system locked by computer and are refusing to unlock it so that I can hire a new, competent security company. If you want a quality service, STEER CLEAR of Ferrer Security!
Not happy with quality of work. May want to contact Colony Insurance in Richmond, VA regarding damage to property.
Appears to provide service, but basically just hooking you up to a national service. The addresses and phone numbers on his website do not work. Good luck getting anything useful from them.
