They claim all the steaks are "Prime", they aren't. Less than 3% of all beef sold in the US meets this level but Dave the lying butcher will tell you anything. Prices are high, place smells and is not clean. I gave them several tries but things didn't add up and this is not a place to buy meats of any quality. Final straw was an order for 10 pounds of wings for a party. Showed up and they had placed them in the freezer to hold them for me, seems odd when you want fresh. Well when I got home and opened them up I knew why they were partially frozen, they were spoiled. When I asked about it I was told fresh chicken has a smell to it, really? You have been warned, if you must try them out trust yourself when things don't add up.

Total let down. I had heard good things and even though it was way out of my way, I decided to give this place a try since there was a groupon. I bought my $20 for $10 groupon and set off to get a good deal. When I got there the disappointments started. First there was an unpleasant smell, then the meat prices were more than 2x what you pay at kroger or publix. Even with the groupon I paid about $10 more than I would have for the same thing at publix. Hamburger was over $5 a pound. No specials. I looked at the packages on the wall and none of them are a good deal if you are really price conscious. I pointed out that the prices ,even with the groupon ,were much higher than the grocery stores to the male attendant (who I later was told was the boss) and his response was yeah . I would at least think he would offer some explanation for why they are charging premium prices. I wouldn t mind paying top dollar if they were offering something better than publix. A good bit of the meat in the case was turning brown, kinda gross. But I was invested in the groupon so I went ahead and bought a few $16 a pound new york strips ($13 per lb after the groupon) that I normally pay $8-$10 a pound for and went on my way. The only good thing I have to say is the blonde woman who checked me out was extremely personable. I cooked the steaks up and they were good but nothing special. I ll stick to publix. I went to save $10 and it ended up costing me an extra $10.

My wife went by Findley's last night and and spent a fortune on what she thought was good quality steaks. WRONG! Turns out they were huge chunks of fat and the worst steaks I've ever had. I can get better meat from a super market. Will never step foot in there again!

My son and I visited the shop today with our Groupon. It was filthy and filled with the smell of rotten meat. There were dirty rags on the floor by the freezer...meat in the refrigerator case was brown. Surprised I didn't see maggots. This place needs a health inspection. How could they offer a groupon with their establishment in such poor condition? Stay away.

We stumbled on Findley's doing a drive by. The sign is so small we almost didn't see it from the road. Having just moved down from Chicago, we really appreciate a n'hood butcher. When we go there we regularly purchase their filet mignons, pulled pork, and twice-baked potatoes. The potatoes are worth their $$ in gold. They are HUGE first of all and are mixed with bacon or sugar or something. Whatever it is, it's absolutely to die for delicious. The meats are excellent quality but honestly I have found similar if not the same quality at Costco or Publix (if you buy a large filet for roughly $10-15/lb. & cut it up yourself). I'll continue to shop at Findley's to support the local business, but it won't be my regular stop for filets. BUT they are at the top of the list for the potatoes!!! And they're very well priced!!
