I have only trusted Firestone Animal Hospital to groom and vaccinate my animals...from my African Grey parrot to my new little puppy. I would highly recommend this animal clinic to anyone who is a... pet owner!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I looked around quite a bit for something affordable , even a pet insurance program that would help with the cost of my pet's healthcare and I was pretty enthusiastic about what I found with this... location on their website. I though it may sound too good to be true, but found it to be sound when I walked in and it was explained to me just as it was advertised. All the vacs, a spay and a 20% discount off everything else for one set price...much less than other locations. The staff was helpful and the doctor wonderful, so nothing too good to be true, just fair when purchased in the package bulk.... sort of like Costco!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

Our family has been clients of Dr. Rocha at Firestone Animal Hospital I continue using his services because they have always provided compassionate, caring and quality veterinarian services. As for the rates, they are comparable to other veterinarian hospitals. It was Oct. 2005 and our dog Chaco, a 9 lbs toy fox terrier was hit by a car. Chaco had serious trauma, collapsed lungs, internal bleeding and a fracture to his leg that looked like a million shattered pieces of glass on the X-ray. We immediately contacted FAH. Because it was after hours, the on call service referred us to a 24 hour ER Animal Hospital in Norwalk. Chaco spent the night in ICU and fortunately made it through that night. The next morning we transferred Chaco (after paying $1,800 for a night in ICU) to FAH. Dr. Rocha was very honest as was the ICU in Norwalk and said the fractured leg may not be repairable. We asked for the alternative (surgery) accepting the risks fully explained by Dr. Rocha. Chaco had surgery to remove the pieces of shattered bone and insert a titanium replacement. We expected a 4-5 day inpatient recovery, but Dr. Rocha and his wife noticed Chaco was depressed after my visits and would not eat unless I would visit mid day during my lunch hour and hand feed him. Dr. Rocha's wife even made Chaco home made chicken broth hoping to provide some nourishment. In the end, Dr. Rocha saved him and his leg!
After I took my Charlie an he showed a-lot of improvement, I recommended this hospital/clinic to the rest of my family. We are avid animal lovers and we spend a-lot of time and money on our animals. What we all liked was the manner in which problems are tackled- sometimes its not cheap, but the problem IS taken care of. You truly get what you pay for at this facility. Highly recommended!
I have been a dog owner for 13 years, and never have I experienced such unprofessionalism. Please keep your beloved pets away from this doctor. He does not know anything about his profession. How he got through Veterinary school is a the only miracle this doctor has performed in his career. He couldn't even diagnose my dog with mange. He told me it was allergies. Upon seeing no improvement I took him to another doctor who diagnosed mange. How could somone with so many years of "EXPERIENCE" not be able to diagnose mange when he sees it?

My bad luck in life is my dogs' skin problems. This goes back to dogs I had 20 years ago...which leads me to review this doctor- something I never do. He made his diagnosis and treatment plan so quickly that I doubted it at first, but I realized he had quite a bit of experience under his belt (from the accreditations and diplomas in the hall and exam). So I went with it including a severe diet change (after years with a top brand). I couldn't be more impressed, now, a month later. Honey's skin is so much better, and her demeanor has improved too (no more itching and discomfort). I commend this doctor and his experience.

Rockin experience ....went to the er in Norwalk n they were asking $5000 for my dane's surgery...just as a down payment! Firestone in Downey saved her life - with the same surgery- for less than half. The interest, care and concern for me and my dog did not even compare. The whole family really appreciates what Dr. Rocha, the reception and the techs!!

Just want to commend the entire staff for the success of my Tom's treatment. Nobody in the fam thought he'd make it but the Dr. never thought he wouldn't. It was a hit and run and he was left for dead...arrived pretty much dead at the hospital...Dr. Rocha resuscitated him, and treated him for three days. Slowly but surely, he made it and walked out. Incredible, seriously.
This place is a money making clinic. You think that you are bringing your pet in to be taken care of, but really they are just massaging your wallet. I can't believe the poor treatment my pets received. and i dont know why they are so iterested in money and they dont care what your pet has its sad people we pay them and they treat us the way they do gosh how rude, I will never return here. and i wish others would look this place up before they go.
Just read the true and accurate reviews. Dr. Rocha has cared for and saved thousands of animals. Perhaps you should find something worthy to do as well and not take out your frustration and time so immorally. A Google User reviewed 9 months ago
Veterinarians are some of y favorite people, and having lived in four countries as a pet lover, I ve gotten to know a few, all quite wonderful. My family has been living in Downey since the late 40s, so I am a proud resident who loves to tout Downey s finest. Dr. Rocha has treated my dogs for everything from routine care to surgeries for many, many years. I have the highest praises for his help and expertise. He has a wonderful facility and staff too.
