Former Flooring World Master Installer
I worked for Flooring World for about three years installing floating and glue down wood floors. I really appreciated the respect I receive from Ray and Steph on my instalation expertise. They consulted me on the installation process for every job I did for them. I cant say the same for any other flooring stores that I have worked for over the last 30 years.\r\rI completely understand the anger and frustration expressed by those who did not get what they paid for in the last day of being in business. I agree that those situations should have been handled differently and those obligations should have been met. I can say the same for Enron employees, but when it falls apart there is not a lot that can be done. Not trying to place blame on any of you who lost money with them, if you would have shopped any of the stores near by they would have, and did tell customers, what was going to happen to Flooring World months before their closing. They company I work for warned people for three of four months before they closed that Flooring World would be out of business very soon. Industry insiders talk and word gets around very quickly. When deals seems to good to be true they are.\r\rShop for your product at a number of stores. Do not be affraid to tell your Sales Person where you have been before and if one store is significantly lower than all of the other stores red flag should be going up. Also, stores that have been in business for long periods of time (20,25,30 Years) are obviously doing something right. The cheapist price is never the best deal and always ask for Carpet and Rug Institue Certified Installers. Installers who speak english are also something you should insist on.\r\r

Help for Victims of Flooring World, Inc.
Flooring World represented themselves as a solid, family run, Christian business. We actually used them years ago on a small job at our rent property. But something has gone terribly wrong. We've been saving for 6 years to get wood floors in our home. We even did the back breaking demo of the old flooring ourselves to save money. We found the perfect product and Chad was so good to work with. We placed the order, gave them our 50% deposit, and that's when things fell apart. After two installation dates came and went with no one showing up, we drove by the store to find it vandalized and boarded up. Obviously, no one is responding to calls or emails either. But there's hope! Flooring World was a member of a purchasing group - Carpet One. I've contacted them and talked to Judy Potter. She is working with me to get my ""stolen"" deposit applied towards a purchase at another one of their member stores. She was very pleasant and extremely helpful. I suggest that anyone else who has fallen victim of Flooring World's unethical business practices contact Judy at 1-800-450-7595, ext 2303.

Flooring World - where are you?
Flooring World,\r\rThe reason I decided to choose you among others was you had good reviews in the past. \r\rWe signed the contract on 14 September 2009 and until the moment I write this review you have not delivered anything, while on the other hand you have cashed the check I gave for 50% down payment of the project.\r\rAt first I dealt with Chase and set the schedule to install the floor on 19 September 2009 at my house but nobody came at that day. Then later I talked with Stephanie and set another schedule on 2 October 2009, the same thing happened again. Nobody came on the installation day, no calls coming in and I could not reach anybody from Flooring World by any of your contact numbers ever since. This is very disappointing and not professional. \r\rThen I decided to visit your store by the week after 2 October 2009, everything look like normal except it was closed. There was a notification on the front door written by Chad telling customers to contact him by email as the only way of communication. I got the response from him once, asking me to wait because of the situation they were dealing with. Then I email him back with no answer up to now.\r\rI sincerely hope Stephanie can take the best possible course for her treatment but it is just not right treating the customer like this as a professional businessman and as a Christian well.\rIn my last email to Chad, I mention that I expect to have the job done this month (October 2009) as I can not wait to have another delay which causes other delay in my other project at home. I have wasted so much time!\r\rI?m hoping that you come up with a solution this time. Last thing I want to do is to see in court.\r\rRegards,\r\rJ. Ardianto\r

Currently, Flooring World Cannot Be Reached AT ALL
Dear Flooring World,\r\rMy husband & I chose your company because you were a family-run business (in business a long time), your reviews were mostly positive, you carried good products, you offered a warranty on both the product & installation, and you professed to be Christians. However, we are thoroughly disappointed with your actions.\r\rWe have been told by one of your contractors that Stephanie has been in the hospital. We have prayed for her. Meanwhile, you have left our house (floor) torn up and you cannot be reached. Every number you have is ringing busy. You have closed your store. In fact, the front of your store has been vandalized. I drove by there again on 10/12/09.\r\rOur master bedroom, bathroom, and closet cannot be used. Y'all tore out the floor on 10/08/09 for the repair (of your faulty installation back on 7/25/09). There are boards piled up everywhere in the bedroom, bathroom, and closet. And, all of our bedroom furniture is piled up in the hallway and living room, thus making those areas unusable as well.\r\rYou have left us with a big mess. If you knew you were going out of business, then why did you let your contractor demolish our floor with no intentions of making the warrantied repairs (that were authorized by Chad on 9/16/09)? We were better off with a faulty floor that was improperly installed than none at all. At least we were able to use our Master Suite prior to last week.\r\rWe are a single income family. I am currently a stay-at-home mom. We worked hard to have a nice floor for our Master Suite. You have robbed us, and left us in a horrible situation. I hope that Stephanie is doing better. I sincerely do. But, regardless of family tragedies, you should honor your commitments to your current clients. As Christians, you are supposed to be Christ-like. Christ would not treat people the way we have been treated.\r\rI am a cancer survivor. Even in my darkest moments, I did not use my disease as an excuse to mistreat people. Even if you
