The food appears to be pre-packaged and stored away for some amount of time before being served to you in a ""casual"" manner, i.e., ""we're not actually going to prepare this, just take off the paper covering."" I'd compare it to picnic food, but picnic food is usually fresh, prepared and served by someone who cares. (The staff is also a problem here if you get a server who acts as if he/she is genuinely interested in treating you well, be glad.)...
