Once upon a time it was a fun course to play...., 7/20/2013

I have been playing Fox Creek for the last 3 years. I play this course 2x per week and really love the course itself. Like many of the reviews you will read here it is challenging for all handicaps.... The starters are great and very friendly. My only concern is that I have been playing on the weekends recently and having to wade through 4-5hrs rounds. The best part about this course is that it is short enough to avoid a par 72 time commitment. When playing by yourself you can walk and play this course in just over 2 hours easily. My longest round this summer has been 5.5! I have walked off the course twice because it was taking too long. I found out today when I checked in that GolfNow will often double book tee times!! Guys, you need to get it together, dump Golf Now, set up a pace of play program and stay on top of the hackers to get them to pick up and move forward so we can all have fun. I have seen pace setter programs really make a difference at other courses. Also, starters should remind folks that it is OK for beginners to pick the ball and drop on the fairway. Be respectful of the group behind you!!! Unfortunately I am now in the market for a new home course. If I am going to have 5hr rounds I might as well play City Club.
