Don't know what the fuss is about over the BBQ. Slow service. Funky interior is good for hanging out.

BBQ is good but lacks consistency. Slow service.
The restaurant is an early 1900's house to restaurant conversion with both front porch and backyard seating. Their BBQ is good but lacks consistency. At lunch $6.99 buys you a sandwich and one side. The service is slow and lacks management. If the service was better I would rate this restaurant better. On the plus side the location, and atmosphere are very unique. It's restaurants like these that should be self-serve. The North location on Austin Bluffs and Templeton Gap location is cheaper and better.

Very Good BBQ @ a friendly place
BBQ at it's BEST!! Here on the foothills of the Rockies in Colorado Springs sits a very nice and friendly restaurant. The food is VERY GOOD, We had the fried artichoke heart appetizer. Don't be fooled, these are wonderful! Very litely battered and cooked perfectly, this was a wonderful start to a very good dinner. Ribs & pulled pork were very good. All the sides that our group ordered matched the entrees for flavor. The weak link of the food chain here at Front Range BBQ was the Elk burger. A bit over cooked and dry, but that's Elk in May for you. If you have a group of 6 or more call ahead so they can get tables set up to handle all of you. Especially if its too cold to sit outside. Flew in from out of state, hungry and it's 7:30pm. We had to wait when we walked in, then asked to seat 6. A 20 minute wait they told us, we gave them our name and said we will go for a walk on this cool night. Back in 18 minutes. No table for us, even when a newly arrived couple (2 people) was sitting at a round table that was set up for 6. Another 16 minute wait. We all would have liked to have been seated when we came back when they told us too-but that was not the case. Too bad there was not 3 feet of snow out side, we would have gotten free draft beers, according to the sign at the small bar. Fantastic local brewskis. We will go back but will call to have a table waiting. Good BBQ for your dollar.

amazing ribs
I'm on a mission to find the best ribs in Colorado Springs. Tried a couple of other BBQ places, and this one blew them all away. So far Front Range BBQ is the best--hands down. The service was amazing, the atmosphere is quaint--a cute little house in Old Colorado. The beer selection was good. Now, let's talk about the food.

The ribs rocked my face off. You know those ribs that fall off the bone? Yeah, these are those. And, the BBQ sauce was really good. I like it when the rib meat is so good, you almost don't notice the BBQ sauce. My wife doesn't yearn for ribs, but even she kept grabbing ribs off my plate. If you're willing to spend a little money for a nice rib dinner (20 bucks a full slab), check this place out.

There was a family next to us with 2 kids. Everyone family member was contentedly chomping away at his own individual plate of ribs. Seeing this carnivorous exhibition made me proud to be in Colorado Springs, and glad that I found the Front Range.

Outstanding BBQ every single time
We discovered this gem a while back and indulge in dining there about once a month. FORGET the BBQ chains, this is the real deal. I cant stress this enough that Front Range is always great, very very very consistent restaurant. In a town where chain restaurants rule this place deserves our business and earns it! The ribs are fantastic, as is the brisket and pulled pork. The sides are great too, tried them all from baked beans, cucumber salad, mashed potatoes, red beans & rice not a dud in the bunch! Its crammed and cozy and sometimes loud w/live music but totally worth it. GO LOCAL!
