This company is the worst I have ever seen in my life. They will tell you much more is wrong than there really is and charge for it without any problem. Most dishonest company I have ever dealt with!! Seniors Beware
I contacted Fulton Plumbing to work on my spa tub. The plumbers called ahead and were very courteous. They told me that they didn't do what I had requested and referred me to another company. What was particularly impressive was that I wasn't charged the trip fee since the person who took the call should have realized that they wouldn't be able to help me. The plumbers had me call Tim (the manager), and he agreed and didn't charge me. It's great to see that companies do the right thing. I will call them again because of how they handled this situation. Ended up purchasing the sniffer tool to find leak myself. Atlanta Gas provided all I really needed. I ended up paying $339.00 and would have paid more if I had followed the recoemmendations they provided. The odd part was that I was referred to another company to do what I hired them to do after my money was taken. I strongly suggest that if you have a gas leak that you look around. I also suggest that you confirm with the actual person on site that they are aware of what was agreed to. I assumed that this would be understood, but you know what they say about those that "assume". Customer service rep (Tim) basically told me that they have "5 to 6" appointments per tech per day as to say that they really don't have time to spend at each customer until they find the problem. I found that odd and a clear indication that it is more about revenue than actual customer service. Buyer beware.
Not only did we get charged for the 1st service visit out, but then they wanted to charge me $700 more for a replacement part and service the next day than A&K Heating and Cooling. Their service tech was incredibly nice - but not $700 extra nice.
Technician said compressor was bad and needed all new a/c unit. Did not even look at the unit until my husband and I asked him to take the cover off. He was beligerent about it. When we disagreed that it was something other than the compressor, he said "I need $139.00 and I'll be on my way" Another company came and it was a burnt wire! Fixed immediately. Called Fulton, Tim promised to refund my $139.00 and never did. When I called about it, he said the owner said no that just showing up was worth $139.00. Told me to go to my bank to dispute. Said "he wished his guys could always provide good service and that his tech was just wrong but that he tried to I still had to pay." The tech was trying to sell me an a/c unit. That's the truth of it.
I called Fulton Plumbing to replace the guts of a toilet. My wife was working from home and dealing with John the plumber. They called to let me know it would be $233. That seemed expensive, but he was already there. He fixed the toilet, added an $89 trip charge to the price he quoted me, then checked the water pressure in the front yard. Any plumber worth his salt knows that the hose spigot in the front yard will read street water pressure, which is higher than the water pressure in the house. He told my wife we have a big problem (120 PSI instead of 55-70 PSI) and suggested we replace the Pressure Regulator Valve for $700 before our appliances started exploding. $700 seemed high, so I called Superior and was quoted $248-348. Alan came out that afternoon, tested our water pressure properly and said we don't have a problem and left. He could have cut a hole in my ceiling and replaced the PRV and I would have been happy to pay less. Superior is tops in my book... honest and less expensive!!! However, Fulton Plumbing seems like they're running a scam, preying on the poor woman of the house. When I called John's boss to complain, he couldn't have been less interested. And he kind of acted like he'd been caught. Whatever they are up to... well, I wouldn't use them again if they were the only plumbers in the book. Crooks!
$89 to come out and look. Once on site the very friendly and courteous technician quoted a price of $395 to route a kitchen sink and $201 to replace some internal parts on 2 bathroom sink faucets. These guys are sky high and take advantage of a bad situation.
Wanted $8000 to fix a sewer line. Charged $1000 to send a camera down the line and unclog it. Had the repair done by another vendor, they did the camera for FREE and repair was less than $1000. These guys take advantage of people who are stuck with a bad situation.
My wife called them to get a instahot water heater installed in our kitchen and change out the kitchen faucet and one bathroom faucet. They quoted her $1885 to do this work and turned up the pressure trying to get her to sign the contract. She called me thinking it was way to high and I told the guy to get out of my house before I called the police. They bullied her into paying a $89 service call fee for the estimate which we stopped payment on. We then called Protech Plumbing Services (770-614-6145) and Rod Fishburn came out and did the job for $354. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY
I called Fulton because they installed a water heater for me a few years ago that had a 6 year warranty on parts and the heater is not working right. They told me that labor was not covered and I would have to pay a trip charge to come out, to which I agreed. What they DID NOT TELL ME was that they don’t do warranty work on the Rheems. The plumber who came out to my house charged me $89 to tell me to call another plumber! Now I have to pay another trip charge for a plumber that Rheem works with. That is shady and unethical business. I was upfront that this unit was under warranty- they should have been upfront and told me they could not do the work. When I called the manager he was far from accommodating on the phone. They just lost another loyal customer.
I had been dealing with a home warranty plumber (A Total) and after repeated visits they were unable to fix the problem and recommended a costly removal of my HVAC duct work so they could access a mystery plumbing leak. I called Fulton Plumbing and HVAC to get an estimate on removal of the duct work and they insisted on sending out a plumber to confirm the situation (at their cost). As it turned out they unqualified plumbers my warranty company sent out had put the wrong fittings in the shower knob stems. The fix was simple, but the fact that this company could identify the exact problem and repair it in less than 30 minutes attests that they are qualified to do the work they are being employed to do. Also, I was very impressed that they were willing to eat their visit charge if they determined that the HVAC did indeed have to be removed - very nice. The only downside was how expensive the job appeared to be. I know they use pricing books, but the cost seemed a little high for the amount of work done. Regardless of the cost, it got fixed and fixed right and that's what mattered to me after all the trouble I had to go through to get it not fixed by the other company.
When my fiancé had a blockage in her sewer line, I went to Home Reports and chose Fulton Plumbing based on their rating. The man they sent out didn’t seem to know what he was doing and got his equipment stuck in the sewer line. To get the equipment out, the basement floor had to be busted up and the line replaced. To repair the damage they’d done, Fulton Plumbing wanted to charge my fiancé $12,000. We hired another plumbing company, who made the repair for $7,000. Had Fulton Plumbing sent out someone competent, they would have diagnosed that the sewer blockage was actually on the city’s right of way and the city would have removed the blockage at no cost. But because of incompetence, the damage they did cost us $7,000.
I called this company because we had a leak. I paid for what the tech said caused the leak (clogged drain pipes)and asked for a thorough check of the area and to write down anything we need to do for general maintainance to keep the system up and running. I am told to rerun the drain pipes. 2 weeks later the air stops. I call them 3 times with no call back. The next day they say the circuit board got wet with the leak and needs replacing - they obviously did not check everything when I asked. I asked the same tech again to check for any potential issues and am told he is not a fortune teller. 6 hours later the leak starts again. I call for help and am told I am not getting help because I did not do what they told me to do to stop the leak (huh? - then what did I pay for the first time?)I call to complian and do not get a call back until the next day when I am told I did not do what they told me to do, that I am lying about what happened and there a plenty of other people I can call for help. So, I did. The next company I called did not suggest re running the pipes but actually did check for real issues and found 2 safty hazards ( a potential carbon monoxide leak and exposed electrical wires), that the insanely rude and unprofessional Fulton Plumbing and Air never mentioned. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by a company I paid to help me in my entire life. I actually had to cut out some of the drama due to the limit of words I can put in this review.
I paid Fulton Plumbing to inspect an HVAC system on a new house I was purchasing. The guy said the HVAC unit needed two new coils at $1700 each for a total of $3400! I called out another HVAC repairman and the seller of the house called out another HVAC repairman -both agreed that the coils did not need to be replaced, and even if the coils had needed to be replaced, it would not cost anywhere near $3400. When I called the manager to complain, he was very rude and disrespectful and refused any sort of refund. He actually called me a "liar." I will never use these this company again.
