I completely trust Gatekeeper to manage my property. I've been treated honestly and all my questions get answered timely. The owner made a great first impression and the staff has maintained my confidence throughout our 5 year business relationship.

My initial meeting Gatekeeper was easy. Can't ask for much more then being where you say, when you say you'll be there. Most owners want to see our properties rented out yesterday, but as time goes on we learn that "good" renters are much more important than quick renters.I have been happy with how maintenance issues have been handled.

What a pain. They're just the go-between with you and the actual land lords. They don't have any power, and have to consult the other party, which means problems take forever to fix. Our roof leaked for ages, and when it needed to be fixed, they did the bare minimum. Our home owners live on the other side of the country, and have no idea how we're actually living. We feel trapped because everything's through a third party. Basic things that should be handled for renters are not, and we always feel in the way for requesting maintenance.

When you are a tenant with Gatekeeper, you are not the client. You are the product. All that matters is that you pay (which I have, 100% on time). I have repeatedly been denied answers to both simple questions and really important questions. I will live in a box before I rent with Gatekeeper again.

I am a Home owner and my experience with them has not been good. There is not enough space here to cover all the problems we have had. Here is a few...absolutely no communication. The man cleaning my carpets informed me the house was rented and the tenants were there to move in. Had to call to ask where rent money was because it was rarely paid to me in a timely manner. One month they said it had not been paid, the tenant emailed me proof of payment. We had to battle it out to get payment. One month I noticed they had deducted $125, they had sent a repairman out to check without ever notifying me. Had to insist on invoice. He did nothing, so I coordinated the replacement of hot water heater and garbage disposal from out of state. They were of NO service to me, I did most everything myself.

I rented through gatkeeper and found them very difficult to deal with. They are not reliable. They would tell you what you want to hear before signing the lease but then after the fact would not deliver. They try to stick tenants with repair costs that the owner should be paying. Would never rent through them again.

Gatekeeper Property Management is the rudest company I have ever had the misfortune to rent from! Their office staff is so rude--I've never had people speak as rudely to me as they have. Two weeks ago my air conditioner went out. The technician didn't fix it correctly the first few times, then he had to order a part. He has been late EVERY single time, and Thursday night he didn't show up at all! On Monday, he said he would have the part and he would be there at 5:30...he never showed up. I called him after waiting awhile and he said he didn't have the part and that he would be there at 5:30 on Tuesday. At around 7:45ish he calls and says he wants to put in the part. I go to bed early, so I told him that since he didn't show at 5:30, we would have to do it a different day. So then he says he'll show up at 5:30 to put it in on Thursday. Thursdays comes and no repair man. I called him, he never called me back. I had to call Gatekeeper THREE times to get them to call me back about this problem. I finally got in touch with them and they said it was my fault because I rescheduled when he was too late on Tuesday. Also, today I spoke with the repair guy again because my AC is STILL broken (over two weeks later), and he said that he didn't need to let me know if he wasn't going to show up because he only ever says he'll TRY to be there at 5:30...silly me, I didn't think that meant he had the right to not show up at 5:30, and never show up that night! How unprofessional!

I am very satisfied and would recommend Gatekeeper to anyone looking for a property management company. All the staff are most courteous and helpful and my payments arrive in a timely manner so yes I trust Gatekeeper implicitly!

To me, this company is Brett--the owner. He has a competent back-up staff, but I appreciate that even as Gatekeeper has grown bigger, direct access to the owner hasn't diminished. He's quick to return a call and gives competent advice. I trust Gatekeeper.
