Well, this place didn't blow me away. From the very start of our experience it was just sort of blah. We pulled up & the parking attendant was nowhere to be seen, so we parked ourselves & walked back up the hill only to be chastised for not waiting for the valet. The service was below par & we were seated near the hostess podium where the servers were constantly gabbing away. It was pretty annoying. Drew wasn't impressed with the seaweed salad & my ginger salad left an intensely bitter aftertaste. Their sushi was ok; Drew seemed fairly pleased with his Spiderman (soft shell crab) roll. I ordered the Snapping Samurai (tempura shrimp topped with red snapper) which sounds lovely on the menu, but it turned out to be really quite bland and boring. I'm not sure how that happens with ingredients like jalapeno & ginger vinaigrette, but it was nearly tasteless. The only really good thing about the whole meal was the tempura mandarin ice cream. The combination of honey & mandarin orange was spectacular, although I did find a bean sprout in the middle of the ice cream ball (not sure how that happens, not sure I want to know). While it wasn't awful, it was definitely nothing to write home about & we most likely won't be going back.

We love the Sake and Spins on Monday night. Order the Horin Sake-you won't regret it. It's so very smooth. It's the only sake the Emporer of Japan will drink! Great place to meet friends after you've been shopping in the Buckhead West Village neighborhood.

Since moving to Atlanta, my husband and I try to go to Genki about once a month. The service and atmosphere are excellent! I'm not a huge sushi lover, but they also have some of the best yakatori around!

I am not a seafood eater but my friends are so I go to Genki often with them. They have many choices for me unlike most sushi/seafood places.

I admit I haven't been to Genki in quite some time. But whenever I go there, I enjoy all their food immensly. They have a good variety. I love their sushi and their Don Noodle bowls, I especially used to like the shrimp Tempura over noodles. Great hangout. I remember it being a little small but hey for good food.

So as a sushi afficionado, people kept telling me that I HAD to try Genki. It was good, but it didn't really live up. A good place to grab some sushi if you are into the 20-30 year old scene, but always crowded. Since Soto is closing, this should make it onto the top 5 sushi spots in town, but just barely. A good choice if you plan on hitting up Buckhead afterwards.

They have the best super crunch roll in Atlanta - I drive down there from Woodstock several times a month! The ONLY problem with them is that there aren't more locations!!! The side of veggies and appetizers are delicious, too. And, they have a happy hour buffet on Tuesdays!

This offers lots of different choices, it's not just your typical sushi choices. Everything I've tried has been great! The prices are very comprobable especially for this area.

I disagree, with the others. I thought the rolls were small and barely any fish in in them. The spicy tuna roll was a little "too fishy". I know it's fish, but I know when it's not fresh. I tried Genki for delivery b/c the food had good reviews. The women on the phone was friendly. and the delivery was prompt. Sounds like it's known for it's noodles or that it's trendy.
