Well, after this eatery opened I was excited to try it. The South East area needs more good places to eat and I try to support the locally owned. As we entered it was not clear as to what to do, Either seat yourself, wait to be seated, or order at the counter first and then find a seat. After a few waiting moments we were finally told to seat ourselves and a waiter would be right with us. None of the waiters even acknowledged us nor greeted us for several minutes. We were getting really irritated, and were about ready to leave when a waitress finally showed up and took our drink order. My son asked her very politely if he could get a Dr. Pepper and she said very sarcastically "Maybe"! After more waiting we eventually got our pizza order in, but were disappointed more when it took a very long time to arrive at our table. Thankfully the pizza we ordered was the only positive of our whole visit. It was made very nicely and had good taste with a nice ratio of ingredients. Maybe the staff were just trying to work the bugs out, but I hope the service will improve, otherwise that will be their downfall. I'll return and give it a second try with hopes of not experiencing long waits.

Gennaro's is a breath of fresh air for those of us in Southeast Chandler. The pizza is fresh, and tasty; the service is friendly; and the owner is always around to make sure everyone is satisfied. Don't forget to end the meal with some delicious Zeppolis (fried dough with cinnamin & sugar - yummy!)

I have to start with WOW! I have been in the valley from NY for 25 years and have tried all of the italian joints with so called NY pizza and this place is just like NY. I was told by a friend originally from New Jersey to check this place out because the Pizza and sandwiches GREAT. Just like he remembers from back east. We are simple and ordered from a nice gal a large cheese pie, and a sausage and peppers sandwich. The pizza was baked perfectly in what ya know, a real pizza oven. The sauce was slightly sweet and blended perfectly with the crisp crust and cheese. The sausage and peppers sandwich was enough for two and had great flavor. If your looking for a real italian place like back home this is it.

As far as Italian food goes I was not impressed. On two separate visits I tried the Calzone and the pizza. I found the pizza lifeless and not very tasty and the Calzone was way too much dough with little filling. The sauce they provided to go with the Calzone was too tomato tasting.
