Had a cleaning in 999 Peachtree office 5 or 6 years ago. Don't remember the exact year but can't forget a hygienist, a dentist, and a woman in the front desk there. The hygienist said that she would do deep cleaning but did not explain how it would be different from regular cleaning in terms of procedures, cost, and insurance coverage. As its procedure was not different from regular cleaning (no anesthetic), I assume it was just more careful cleaning. She also gave me a bottle of mouse wash and I assume that it was one of usual goodies you get because she didn't say anything about its cost. A few weeks later I was surprised by an insurance statement that (i) the cost of deep cleaning and the mouth wash was around $388 (remember approx. $350 + $38) and (ii) insurance would not cover it. Regarding dentist, Dr. Priest was not in the office (no wonder given that his main office is in SC). Instead I saw a young dentist. He spent about 15 mins on emphasizing how my bridge (of 6 units) looked bad and that I should get a new bridge and gum removal due to gummy smile (possibly with re-treatment of previous root canals under the bridge as well). Then he told me to wait in the lounge for cost estimate for the procedures. He was so pushy. A woman in the front desk quoted the total around $10,000. When I asked about payment options, she said "our patients usually pay fee all at once and don't need financing." I never came back to the office.
