After seeing a few suggestions for German Car Repair, in Apharetta, I wound up using them to PPI a '99 C2 Cab that I was interested in. I flew down for the PPI yesterday am. I had a great experience with Alan Kidson (owner) and Jerry Weiden (their Porsche Master Mechanic). Beautiful shop, friendly, accommodating service. They worked with the seller to schedule the work (the seller sent it in by towtruck) and agreed to hold it in the shop over the weekend for pickup Monday. Unfortunately, the PPI ended almost as soon as it began, with a number of issues identified right off the bat. Before going any further, Alan and Jerry brought me out to discuss the issues, their required or potential solutions (some of these items were not fully diagnosed, but simply identified) and to make a determination to stop right then and there (at no cost to me) or to continue. I chose not to continue, the car was not what I expected. They had no horse in the race and could easily have gone through the whole process without giving me the option. They appear to be straight shooters and professional. I'd certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a PPI in the Atlanta area. So, a big emotional roller coaster (I woke up yesterday like a kid at Christmas), a waste of my hard earned frequent flier miles on a pretty last minute trip, but I took the opportunity to check out 4 other cars in the area after the aborted PPI, got a bit of an education, and found another likely candidate.

I am very particular and detail oriented and they always answer all my questions and don't talk down to me like. They help me understand my options and let me make the choice that best suits me.

After dealing with the rip-off dealership (Nalley Audi) who said my engine was blown,,, I am so glad I decided to research on getting a second opinion. Please do not be scared off by the look of the building or location of shop. These guys are professional german car mechanics, much better that the dealer. German Car Repair went straight to work diagnosing my Audi, keeping in constant communication with me every day, got the warranty to pay, and I did not need a new engine after all. The mechanics at this shop are very professional, experienced with german vehicle repairs and in working with your warranty too!! They have very fair prices. I highly recommend this shop and will continue business with them. PJM - 8-4-2011

Thanks Alan for everything you do for me and my car! You are very skilled in diagnosing the problem and fixing it quickly. I appreciate your help considering I don't own a German-made car;) Your pricing is very reasonable and it is a pleasure to visit your friendly family-owned business. I'll be sure to refer those that can afford those snazzy German cars! Thanks! Allison B.

I took my car in on a Sunday, they never called me to give status, I called every day, they got to it on Wednesday, it needed a fuel filter for which they charged me $468. I went to 4 other German repair shops after, to be told it costs a couple of bucks for that filter and total installation costs $65.I have documents to prove. Just ask me- Ill send for your review email@example.com. The other reviews have to be made up by owners of this shop,I can't be the only one who has had a bad experience- because they are not to be trusted

Car was dropped off after hours (Sunday)with no contact info and did not run. Customer only contacted us later in the week. It was NOT a simple fuel filter replacement as stated (Mercedes diesel), but involved some troubleshooting time to diagnose and replace a defective fuel shut off valve on the injection pump, and we also replaced both fuel filters on the vehicle. Customer appeared unable, or unwilling to understand that this was more than a simple fuel filter replacement. Our prices are fair, and we stand behind our excellent reputation and our work. Insurance Agent, be honest when you write a review, and be honest with other shops when you ask for estimates. You authorized the repair, and then you wait 7 months to write this factually incorrect review. Incidentally, all the reviews for my business are submitted by satisfied customers. I sincerely hope they see this and respond to your insinuation. Alan Kidson. Owner.

I had called several German auto repair shops in the area after my Audi A4 had a rear-window regulator fail on me (window rolls down but not up). Their staff was able to give me an exact price over the phone that did not change 1 cent after I brought the car in. This price included a 10% new customer discount that I was not aware of. The price was approximately 25% less than local Audi delaerships and about 10-15% less than other German Auto shops I called. I would definitely recommend them and plan on taking my car back for future service.

I live intown and have been dealing with a local independent shop for many years. Just bought a used Benz, and after a $750 repair on my steering (that I knew was needed), I noticed a knocking noise in the suspension when going over relatively small bumps, that was not there pre-repair. My frustration led me to find and then contact German Car Repair in Roswell. Found them on the web (informative website by the way) and had a phone conversation with the owner, Alan Kidson, who worked me into the schedule on short notice on a Friday. After a reasonable wait, my anxiety left me as Alan presented me with a very small repair bill for tightening some loose bolts! I was impressed by the urgency that these guys brought to looking into my problem, and then fixing it without drama. This was a situation in which a less professional (and honest) shop could have easily taken advantage of the situation for a larger, unnecessary job. Glad I found GCR and that I gave them a chance. They have earned a new customer. Don't hesitate to entrust Alan and his staff with your German car. They service many German makes, but BMW and MB are their specialty.

My Porsche Boxster was in an accident. The collision company fixed the body work but couldn't fix the vibration problem. A friend recommended Alan at German Car Repair. Alan diagnosed & fixed the problem. He made my Porsche feel like a Porsche again! And he stood beside me when my the insurance company refused to pay all the repair bill. I didn't know Alan before the accident but I'm a customer for life. He's the best mechanic I've ever met and the service is unbeatable. I highly recommend German Car Repair!

I took my A3 in for service after calling around for prices. They were $100 cheaper than other shops and $200 cheaper than the dealers so I was a bit suspicious. After checking their ratings online I took my car in. The service was great, they explained everything, didn't try to upsell me. They also stayed open late so I could pick up on a Friday night. The staff I spoke with were knowledgeable and had a long history of driving and working on German cars (specifically BMW). I'll definitely be taking my car back.

Allen Kidson (owner) is the most honest and reliable German car mechanic I have ever found. He know what to look for in diagnosing problems- he takes his profession very seriously and is tops in his field. In the 5 yrs I have know and been using German Car Repair I have never even considered another mechanic to even look at one of my vehicles. His honesty and integrity has lead us to become friends- not out of necessity on my part- but because he is deserving of my friendship! Give him a try- you will not be dissapointed.

This shop was honest, prompt, and no-nonsense. They made certain that they gave me the current discount they were running (without my having to ask) and my Passat runs great! I felt like they knew my car in and out. Thanks guys, I will be back (but hopefully not TOO soon ;)

I needed to have an air bag light checked out on my BMW. I went by the dealer and made an appointment but at the last minute I decided not to go and searched a German car repair close to my work. I paid 1/5th of what they told me at the dealership. Alan was super friendly, honest, and I will be taking my car back there for all of my repairs for now on. The dealer wanted me to leave the car with them for 2 hours. Alan knew what the problem was and I was in and out in 20 minutes during my lunch break and I saved a ton of money.
