No No And No
I took my daughter to see Dr Gilbert and was horrified at his manner , He was rude and very un-compassionate, i truly was shocked - I would in no way recommend Dr Gilbert to anyone who is seeking a kind caring compassionate Dr because he was NONE of those things and as if thats not bad enough his fee's are very high for self paying patients

Switching doctors
He is quick with his patients and doesn't always seem to listen but did seem to know what he was doing. I miss Barbara who was his old assistant. She was sympathetic to someone who is suffering and was always quick to call you back. It's hard to get a call back for a problem and hard to get in to see the doctor if you have a problem. It is agonizing and I wish they were set up to be more responsive to a patient when they are having a problem and suffering.

Great doctor, great practice
I have found Dr. Gilbert to be smart and caring. I have never felt particularly rushed, but he is efficient with his time. I appreciate this, because I've never had to wait long for an appointment. His office staff is delightful -- very friendly both on the phone and in person. I would highly recommend him.

Excellent Dr.
I'm confused by these reviews of Dr. Gilbert. I do not find him to be distant or short with me at all. In my appts he is attentive, thoughtful, and has a detailed history of my medications and other issues available online. After 15 yrs of headaches, he was the first to tell me don't take birth control if you have migraine auras. I have always recommended him to others and have always found the staff to be polite and helpful. I see Dr. Gilbert for headaches, which I believe is his specialty. Several years ago he worked with me through numerous attempts at a preventive medicine, none of which ultimately worked effectively. In the meantime, he has continued with different methods to treat, and I've worked on other methods on my own (decreased sugar intake, increased exercise). We are now about to try botox. He has a fulltime assistant who is a headache specialist, and I've always contacted that person (Barbara retired and there's a new person now) with questions in between visits. Have always received supportive help.

A Frustrating Doctor
Was a patient of Dr Gilbert for a number of years. Early on he was attentive and seemed to be the doctor for me. He asked that I see him at least every 3 months. His staff is helpful and very nice. Getting an appointment with him isn't easy - he books pretty far in advance. He has a habit of canceling appointments at the last minute. He does rush through the appointments and doesn't always give you time to ask questions. He comes across as uninterested or uncaring quite often. I decided it was time to find a new doctor since he seemed very uninterested during my last 4-5 appointments. He prescribed a medication to which I had a severe allergic reaction, the home health nurse called the office and gave the report of my reaction. The next visit, he wrote a prescription for the same medication. When I reminded him of my reaction the last time, he threw his hands up in the air and said, 'well what do you want me to prescribe." I decided it was time to switch doctors. They won't let you switch to another doctor in the practice, so I left to find a MS specialist at Emory Hospital.
