Fun for kids, out of town guests, anyone. We have enjoyed the train ride, mine tour, cemetery and the restaurant. Kids especially love the homemade fudge. Great place to stop after hiking in the Superstition Mountains.

Goldfield Ghost Town is a lot of fun for kids and out-of-town guests. We started taking our kids for a yearly visit when they were 4 and they love the place. There is a mine tour that is very informative. (They set it up like you're going down into an actual mine shaft, which may scare some younger kids, so be forewarned.) There is a train ride that makes a loop of the town and provides you with a great deal of history. I do wish they'd turn the sound up a bit on that tour, but if you sit toward the conductor you can hear better. There are many places to shop, and a handfull of places for snacks and meals. The ice cream stand is a favorite spot for my kids, but to be honest, I'm not that big of a fan. I prefer the candy store, myself! There is a reptile museum that is worth a look behind the main street. Also, if you are looking for something extra special, consider some trail riding or a carriage ride. Just be sure to call first, especially in the tourist season. We had friends come and visit us from the Philippeans, and we took them over to show them a bit of the old west and they loved it. My mom from the east coast similarly enjoyed it. Be aware that the entire site can be difficult to navigate for older people, the handicap, and new walkers. Also, some of the town closes down over the hotter months, so make your trip in the cooler weather if you can, so you don't miss out on something you were really hoping for. This would make a nice half-day trip.
