GrassRoots has been taking care of my lawn for over a year now, and it has never looked better! Grass is green, thick, and weed free. Have been very happy with GrassRoots service so far, including... Damion recently working very hard to get it ready for winter. Highly recommended company and hard-working, solid employees.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I really appreciate William and Dallas taking time with me today telling me about Army Worms I now have in my new sod and how it needs to be treated. Jose and Jesus are the best maintenance crew in... company. They treat my property as if it was their own. Russell is great with taking care of any of my concerns when I call the office. He is very polite, calm and makes sure the job gets done!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

My prior weed control company did an ok job, but it was not great. After the salesperson at Grassroots specifically assured me they would eliminate dallis grass (I asked because I was told by my prior company that the chemical needed to control dallis grass is off the market), I decided to give them a chance. The first two applications did pretty much nothing. I was told that they would not do a service call until the third application, and that it would take time. I have to point out that I did not see any granules on my grass even though they were supposed to have spread pre-emergent and fertilizer. Right before the third application, my lawn was looking awful. I called the technician and told him my lawn had never looked worse. He assured me it'd get better after the third application. A week after the third application, the weeds were still out of control (including dallis grass, clumps of fescue, broadleaf weeds, etc.). The technician said they'd send someone for a service call, and that it'd take up to a year to get a result! He said, the broadleaf weeds would eventually die on their own! Why do I need a service then? He did not send anyone for a service call. I sent him a text asking him to do so, and that I'd cancel otherwise. He said that's ok and that he would cancel my account. In summary, we are out almost $150 for three applications that did absolutely nothing, and now we have to spend more money on a new company.
I wrote a review of GrassRoots blasting this company. I was a bit hasty. Unsolicited, the owner of the company contacted me and remedied the concerns and problems. They corrected their mistake and I am delighted with the results.
We have used a couple of "bigger" and more popular companies in the past for our lawn treatment, and always had to have repeat services because issues with weeds and such were never resolved. Our lawn has never looked as good as it has since we started using Grassroots. The customer service is great in my opinion. They call and let you know a day ahead when they are planning to come out and have always provided quotes for additional services promptly.
If you are thinking about giving this company a chance, don't. And here is why. I spoke to Richard and got my estimate about 3 weeks ago but could have been even longer. He came out on time and we were able to work out a deal to service my yard and get it aerate so I was happy at that point and I actually ended up signing up two properties. I was told that someone will be servicing my yard within a week. More than 10 days later, still no service and no call, nothing is being done. I decided to call and spoke to Russel and initially he stated that he will get someone out the very next day. Few minutes later, I get a call back from Russel and tells me he will have to reschedule and I won't be serviced until the following Mon thru Wed. At this point, I was ready to cancel but wanted to give them a second chance. Now today is the Wed and still no service. I spoke with this lady and found out I won't be serviced today so I told them to cancel both accts. DON'T WASTE YOUR ENERGY WITH THESE PEOPLE OR YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE ME.
I've been using GrassRoots for about 6 months now and have been very satisfied. When there was an issue they resolved it promptly. Thanks to Josh for the rapid response.
Saw them at a community event and they were very friendly, signed up for a free evaluation which went great, they followed through good service. I have been using them for several months and cannot complain. There was one scheduling conflict but spoke to a lady in office named Kristen who promptly handled the issue. Would recommend to others...
These guys are very friendly, accomodating and are excellent communicators. They are very good at being delingent at the start of the relationship, but that waned dramatically after several weeks. Not before long, we had to bring the most basic services to their attention (like weeding and proper hedge trimming). They do make reasonable attempst to correct things. but that doesn't make up for the fact that my landscape was not maintained as they promised and I had paid 100% of what they ask for each month. I am writing this after over a half dozen "complaints" about their service. So both parties have tried to get things right - but can't seem to work things out. In my mind this is simple - if I pay 100% of what I asked, I should get 100% of what was promised. I even provided them with excellent, but honest references. They are very good people and the crews are always polite. They have serviced my lawn for over 2 years, I don't want to see them go, but I want what I pay for.
Very affordable, courteous, professional service. Office is easy to work with, crews have been very professional and on-time. I have a tough yard, lots of trees, only a few hours of sun in the mornings, and had almost all weeds and bare spots. GrassRoots has been aerating and seeding for 2 years, and last year did a maintenance plan. Now the yard looks great.
I called this organization for an estimate. They sent out a salesman named Dan Blakeman. He assessed the property and left me with an evaluation check list. Five days later a technician arrives on my property, rings my door bell and walks back to his service truck. I connected with him on my sidewalk. He tells me he was sent out by his co. to treat my yard. How interesting of a tactic?! No Thank you. Later that day I receive a Invoice in my mail box. Interesting timing?! The letter is signed by Josh Wise. He must be the owner. I never authorized the work nor signed a contract to do so. Good thing I was telecommuting that day. Perhaps he should evaluate his business tactics? Very Unprofessional and dirty business practices!
We have been using GrassRoots for years and have never had any issues in the past. Recently we rented out our house and even though the renters took care of the lawn there were still some weeds. We called GrassRoots to correct any issues with weeds. I was impressed that when I had concerns the owner called me directly to resolve the issue - something you rarely see nowadays.
We have used Grass Roots for a few years now - initially just for weed control and fertilizer, then for pruning and cutting the shrubs and trees, and just recently, for a year-round maintenance to include mowing. We also had them install new sod in the backyard. This was a "big ticket" item but they tilled up the backyard before installing it, and they guarantee the sod will not die in the first year. This was important to me. I have always been happy with their performance and timeliness. The prices are competitive, and I signed the annual mowing and maintenance contract after I realized that I was paying a similar overall cost using them for weed control and a neighborhood service for mowing. I recommend the company.
I had service with this company at one time, I had a wonderful salesman named Richard. He was knowledgable and vey caring. The man that sprayed my yard was wonderful as well. But when I had a problem this July I was informed that Richard was no longer with the company. I asked to speak to the Service Manager, I believe his name was Shane. The man was rude, uncaring, did not seem to care if I stayed a customer with Grass Roots or not. Well I'm not. Hope I run into Richard.
I also had TruGreen and wasn't happy with their services. Grass Roots had done someone else's yard in my neighborhood and I gave them a call... they gave me a good price (slightly lower than TruGreen's) and I've been happy with them ever since. They do what they say they'll do and show up when they say, weather permitting. Great job guys!
