Dropped an edger off for string replacement and tune up, was told 1 week until they got to it. Paid $35 for bench fee. I called them 11 days later, and was told that it needed a part. I then got a call a week later (now 18 days in) and was told that the part was too expensive to be worth replacing. Would have been nice to know that two weeks ago! Then, I went to pick the edger up, and they had moved it to the other shop! Thus, it wasn't even there for me to pick it up, after driving all the way there. I asked them to just throw it away. Extremely disappointed. Was hoping to find a home for my power equipment service in Alpharetta, but this is not it.

Started going to Grassland a couple years ago for maintenance of lawn mower and other yard equipment. Had good service and quality work though they were always busy. All that changed when I walked in this Spring with my leaf blower and was greeted by an older gentleman who promptly showed me a sign on the counter that they no longer wish to work on handheld equipment and he referred me to a "big box" store. I was dismayed and told him that I had been going there for years (politely by the way). He then told me (get this) that "He is tired of people buying shoddy equipment at other places and coming here to get it fixed and getting mad at him for not doing it in a few days." The amazing part is that I was ok to wait a couple weeks (it was Spring afterall)and it seems to me that if you are in the repair business you would be happy to have people buy shoddy equipment somewhere else and come to them for help. So, I went up the street to ACE Hardware where they were happy to help me...and fixed it in 5 days. Good luck Grassland. You lost a loyal customer.

Dear "Not what they once were" It is a fact that the Big Box stores are ONLY interested in selling you a NEW thing rather than having it repaired by them selves or sending it out to a independent shop like Grassland and paying a fair repair labor. Our experience has been that the under $100.00 items are not cost effective to repair in most cases. The Big box store has made its profit by collecting your hard earned money. They now wish you would go away until you wear it out and return to buy another. This is just the way it is in our world economy. I am sorry you are not happy with our position but we are still giving quality service at a fair price on higher quality equipment.
Have used these guys because they are the local folks. Failed to provide good customer service, failed to provide on time delivery, and are just failures. But good on asking for the money.

I used another repair shop previously, but this was much closer to my house. When I asked price, they said about $95. Told them I couldn't do "about" when I have read these reviews. They said +/- 10%. Picked it up. $99. Work performed was exceptional.

Brought a 1 year old back pack blower in for repair. They could not repair under warranty. Went to pick up gave it to me in a million pieces in a box and charged me $55.00. This is unheard of in the industry for a repair shop to charge you a diagnostic fee and refuse to put it together. I can not take the unit to an authorized dealer now as it is in pieces and negates the warranty. Tim the shop manager not only did not care he told me it was an additional $150.00 to put it together. Scam, Scam! You can only get away with this a few times before people get what your about. Worst Service Ever posted by a landscaper with 15 years in the business!

Dear "Worst Ever" I am not sure the last time you had your car, motorcycle, etc in for repair. A diagnostic fee is normal business. This holds true especially when you are taking your repair to a business that is not where you purchased from. As always the diagnostic fee applies to the repair ticket if you have it repaired by Grassland.
I dropped off two scooters to them. The first one they said was fixed and gave me a $220. bill. I was blown away but was told I had to pay that amount. Did and got the scooter home to find out they did nothing and it was doing the same thing it was doing before I took it in. Dropped it back off and was told they will fix it right away. Called about it and said it was fixed got there and there was another $330 bill!!! They said pay it or they will dispose of the scooter in 15 days.. On to the second one. They said was fixed and that my total was $75.00 on my way to pick up I was called back by them to tell me it was going to be more like $250. for the repairs. I got there and the scooter was in pieces!!! I was told the same thing pay the amount or they would dispose of my scooter. I paid the amount. Charged it back to my card and reported them to BBB. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Dropped my riding mower off for repair. They told me on Friday it would be $300 to fix it, so I gave them the go ahead.On Monday, they told me they fixed it, but the price to pick it up was now 750!! I was shocked and refused to pay. They took this to mean I "donated the mower" and proceeded to sell it without even contacting me. When I met with the owner to discuss the situation and ask for a resolution, he offered none and was not at all interested in rectifying the situation. I was shocked.

Grassland was dispached to pick up this customer mower and make run by the customer. On inspection at our shop we found that mice or rats had created a large nest inside of the engine compartment. Beside having made a mess or the engine air cooling system the critters had eaten most of the engine and mower wiring. At this time the customer owed $80.00 for pick up and del plus $55.00 for the diagnostic and inspection. Rather than returning a crippled non working mower back to the customer and charging $155.00 we proceeded with the repair. We did offer a 150.00 discount on the repairs to the customer, he declined the work. Grassland had no further communication from the customer for 1.5 months and the mower was considered abandoned. This customer never paid the $135.00 owed to Grassland.
I made a mistake when I gave this company a second chance, but I figured "how bad could I get screwed" given that I was only ordering a mower belt. I paid the $45 deposit and was told the total cost would be an additional $10 or $15 with labor and credit for the deposit, and that I would have the mower with the belt installed within 5 days. 3 weeks later I went to get the mower because they had not done the work. I was told I owed another $30 after telling them just to give me the belt and that I would put it on myself (total time to install the belt without a tool = 1 mnt). The cost of the belt was 27.00 so in the end I ended up paying another $40.00 just for the part. I was told by the proprietor that I owed for diagnostics, etc., at which time I reminded the owner that there was no diagnostics necessary as I had provided them with the part number when I dropped the mower off and no mechanics time was necessary. This was less than the $70.00 they tried to get me to pay. This is basically the same thing they did the first time I used them except they tried to charge me more for a "pull chord" than what I had paid for the mower itself. Now that Grassland Power is charging a $45.00 deposit for just getting your business, I would suggest that if you use Grassland Power that you request a written "maximum" estimate before leaving your equipment with them and plan on not needing the equipment for a month or so.

I was up charged by about 30%. Funny thing was the person picking their mower before me was complaining to them about the same thing. They did a good job, but lost a customer due to their business practice. I believe they do this to everyone.

Our popular annual service is a complete service that is customized for each type of equipment being serviced. Each annual includes a detailed checklist of services preformed. The annual service assumes that the mower is operating as manufactured and only those items that are normal wear will be replaced. At Grassland we do inspect all functions of the mower. If the mower is not running or operating correctly, it may need additional work and parts that are outside of a normal annual service cost. Because our annual service prices include parts, the actual final cost can be ..... + or - up to 10% thank you for understanding.
I am very impressed with Grassland Power. My 49cc scooter had a problem no one else could fix. This scooter is not one of those Chinese pieces of junk other people have talked about regarding Grassland. My scooter cost nearly $1,500.00. My repair bill was about $400.00 at Grassland but it runs better than new and like I said - no one else could fix the problem and it saved me from buying a new scooter. I highly recommend grassland but don't expect them to miracles for 50 bucks.
