A rude reception service on the phone, 4/22/2009

I moved to Midtown last year, and was looking for a dentist to build a lasting relationship with. I work and live in this part of the city, and got Dr. Greissinger's name from a co-worker. My dental... insurance is with Humana, and this Dr's office works with them, so I went on and called her office. How disappointingly rude the receptionist turned out to be! When asked on a ball figure on prices for x-rays, cleaning and basic consultation, the lady said they don't give prices over the phone, adding why I would want to know, anyways, since I have dental insurance? To which I responded: "Well, my insurance does not pay all the bills, so I would like to know what to expect in terms of prices". I also told her that if the policy was not to give prices over the phone, I would be more than happy to stop by and pay a visit to the office. To which she replied: "Well, don't waste your time in coming here, then, because we won't discuss prices anyways". I was appalled with such an attitude and unprofessional behavior! Especially under such a delicate economy, you would think that businesses would make sure that their staff is treating their prospect patients right. And how can people be denied such a basic information, that is vital to the decision making process anyways? If Dr. Michelle Greissinger is actually a good dentist or not, I will never find out, as I moved on to find another dentist, with a very friendly staff. Maria Bormann
