Hammerhead Contracting Inc. is a licensed general contractor in the Charlotte, NC area. We build custom residential homes, additions, renovations, & light commercial construction.
We at Hammerhead Contracting believe we operate a bit differently than most general contracting firms. Our focus is always on approaching our business from YOUR point of view. The six points that make us different are:
1. WE TAKE TIME.
Time to truly listen to what want, or think you may want, or.. know that you DON'T want. Time to explain how the entire process will work, from design, to material selection, to the project schedule. Time to answer any questions you may have about any aspect of the process.
2. WE REDUCE STRESS
Renovating or remodeling you home can be very stressful. Living with your home in a state of disarray. Having strangers in your home for an extended period of time. Being faced with decision, after decision, after decision. We go the extra mile to work within YOUR schedule and minimize disruption. If that means working on weekends, or extended hours to get done on schedule, we will do it. If that means not working during certain periods, we will accommodate your wishes. You will have the cell numbers of management, who will be on call 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.
3. WE TREAT YOU AS A PARTNER
We always work towards win-win solutions. Regardless of the challenges, when you have a contractor that works closely with you as a partner, solutions become much easier and simple.
3. WE SHARE THE SAVINGS
We will constantly look for opportunities to create savings in all aspects of our projects. If we are able to present alternatives that will result in savings, we will gladly pass those savings back to you.
4. WE STAND BEHIND OUR WORK
With many, many satisfied customers during our 10+ years of operation, we stand behind ALL aspects of our work, whether it be materials, workmanship, or the quality of the work competed by our sub-contractors, such as plumbers and electricians. We will be here for the long haul, and will always be available to address ANY issues that arise.
5. WE OFFER QUALITY WORK FOR A FAIR PRICE
Most people realize, that as often as not, you get what you pay for. We price our projects at prices that are reasonable, fair and competitive. If a price seems too good to be true, it is usually a sign that something has been missed, or sub-standard materials or workmanship will be used. Please make certain you protect yourself by checking the credentials of any contractor you may choose to have give you bids.
6. WE'RE NOT SATISFIED UNTIL YOU ARE SATISFIED
We will not consider our job done until YOU are totally satisfied. We do our best to incorporate quality assurance into each step of our progress and we encourage you to inspect as much as possible and let us know if anything is not to your liking. You can be assured that we will be with you until EVERYTHING is up to your expectations.
With over 20 years experience in the field, you can rest assured that we will get the job done right.
Please give us a call!
We are happy to answer any questions.
Our family room looks so beautiful! Scott, Rod, Dan, Tomas and all the people with Hammerhead did a wonderful job. We presented Hammerhead with quite a project. Hammerhead remodeled a cathedral ceiling room with old, dark 1970's sheet paneling up to the roof and replaced it with beautiful and intricate wood paneling. We wanted the upper part of this two story room finished off with stucco and then faux painted in order to lighten and add contrast. New book shelves and cabinets were installed. Up lighting was put in shining up on the walls and outlining the fireplace. Down lighting in the book shelves adds just the right touch of illumination. A new wooden floor was put down as well. Vents matching the wood floor are unnoticeable. On one wall they took out a small door and replaced the door and windows with large picture windows overlooking a pond. On the other side of the room, French doors open on to a covered screened porch. This room is truly breathtaking. Scott and Rod had brilliant suggestions. In an older home, you run into problems. Water rot, shifting foundations...nothing seemed to faze them. They were on point, on site every day, and delivered. It is simpler to build something new and beautiful. It takes knowledgeable craftsmen to take an older home and remodel it in keeping with the integrity of its age. They got it! This room has WOW appeal. Will we call them again? You bet.

Scott and Rod were professional, always available, and made sure that every aspect of the job went smoothly. Their crews were efficient, easy to talk to, and they kept the site cleaned up everyday. They were all especially kind to my Golden Retriever. :)

We recently used Hammerhead to modify our kitchen to fit a new stove (from drop in to slide in) and put in new marble counter tops. The process was excellent as was the finished product and and it looks great. We will be using Hammerhead in the future for not only any kitchen needs but also bathroom and any other jobs that they cover.

Hammerhead remodeled our laundry and the craftsmanship is excellent. My wife and I joke saying it is now the best room in our house. They did an excellent job and were very accomodating to our needs. The process was easy and stress free. The cost was very reasonable. We are working with Hammerhead now to remodel our basement and are excited about the options they laid out for us.

As a Professional Designer, I have appreciated the "team rapport", quality, & attention to detail with HC. When designing a space and looking at clients' "budget" and "wish list" - HC has been a great source to bounce ideas off of. We brainstorm as a team to revise design elements, creating a similar effect, still come in at budget without having to sacrifice the design by eliminating items. (We consider changing the materials - adjusting the scale - the way it's constructed, etc.) Ultimately, we create a great solution that fits into budget - and the end result fits the clients' personality! Very happy clients! I have known and been working with HC for the past 7 years. They have been the GC on many of my residential & commercial projects. (Additions & Renovations). I am extremely impressed with their integrity. I stand behind the crew at Hammerhead Contracting. I will continue to hire them and recommend them. Kindest Regards, April with Brooks Morris Design brooksmorris.com

From the first introductory visit, Hammerhead was impressive. They are easy to work with, have friendly and highly competent subcontractors, and Scott and Rod get back to you with answers to your questions within minutes to hours! We have already recommended them to friends and neighbors who are looking to remodel their bathrooms as well. We love our new shower!

We required major renovation work for our house and are so happy that we chose Scott and the gang at Hammerhead Contracting to do the job. In less than 5 months they expanded both the upper and lower levels of our home, built a beautiful front porch, gave us a new roof, siding, refinished wood floors, and more. They provided us with a good plan at a fair price and then expedited it efficiently with the utmost respect for our home and family. The end result is an almost new, beautiful home that we are so happy to be living in. You can't go wrong by choosing Hammerhead!

Hammerhead revamped our house (that was more of a cottage) and has made it into a house. Now its our home we are happy with. The house was built in 1970 and the contractors made supreme efforts to improve what was there and a dd a quality addition. The old master bath was completely redone. The addition is 12x16 ad is 2 stories. It is well built ad a huge asset to the structure.

They worked with us and around us. We now have a beautiful dry basement bedroom and bath instead of a wet junk filled space. Will definently use again! In the end they felt like family and good friends.

Rod and Scott helped me to rehabilitate a 1966 converted duplex into a home where I could care for my aging mother. They thought out necessary fixes for our issues: a parking pad in back b/c Mom has issues walking; drainage issue corrections; fencing; and complying with new EPA regulations for window replacements and lead testing. They were always courteous, easy to reach, and answered all of my questions in professional and timely manners. Everything from carpet selection to paint colors--no question was treated as being stupid. Most importantly, they have the ability to see what might be needed in the future to help my home be more accessible/functional and a positive investment for resale. I couldn't have had a better experience!
