Received a Hammock's A/C coupon with a $88.88 Freon Special in the mail. This included up to 3 lbs of refrigerant and an electronic Leak Check. I already knew that our system had a leak somewhere and that it was completely out of Freon so I called Hammock's and scheduled for a technician to come out and perform the advertised service. The technician arrived, checked the refrigerant and stated that the system is completely empty and that it would require around 5 lbs of refrigerant at a much higher cost. He stated that he could check for leaks all day long but that this would not help the issue and that the complete system needs to be replaced. He then wrote up an estimate for a new unit and charged $85 for a service call. This service fee was to be credited towards the install of a new system. We had several other companies come out to give us an estimate and none of them charged us a fee to provide the estimate. Needless to say that we decided not to go with this company for we felt they were already trying to cheat a customer at the stage of providing an estimate.

I would not recommend doing business with Hammock unless you want to be ripped off, lied to, disrespected and threatened!!! Bought an AC unit from them in 2009. After they installed it, water came pouring through my upstairs ceiling and light fixtures because they hadn't cleaned the drain out. Tech came and fixed it, admitted it was their fault. Called them about repairing, painting my ceilings but never heard back. Fast forward 7 years, that AC unit stops working, it is one of three and the newest. I call the company that we use now and they come out and tell me it's still under warranty but I have to go through Hammock. Hammock came out after two days and tells me that they no longer make that unit, so I can buy a new unit for $2500-2900 or they can get the coils repaired for $1500 and a wait of three weeks. That's for labor and Freon which is not included in the warranty. Hmm, which do you think they wanted to upsell me? And they charged me a trip fee to come out on a warrantied product. I speak to the service manager since its not my fault they no longer make the unit and he offers $300 off a new unit. Still annoyed (what good are warranties if they won't honor it?), I put 5 calls in to the owner. He finally called me back and quoted me higher prices and told me he had a business to run and was in it to make money. Not my money anymore, buddy. After the call ended, the office manager called and threatened to call the police if I ever call there again!!

BEWARE! - I recommend you DO NOT USE Hammock's. Here's what happened to me: 1) They tried to sell me the wrong size system for my square footage. 2) The installers STOLE soft drinks out of my fridge without asking. There's no telling what else they would have stolen if I wasn't there. They may have stolen other stuff that I haven't noticed yet. 3) The installers also did a VERY POOR job installing the system. This caused the system to leak, which leaked on my ceiling downstairs causing damage (which they refused to pay for). They didn't even install a filter for the system (which would have voided the warranty). 4) 2 different service guys had to come out TWICE to finally get the install right. It took 3 days to finally get the install right (hopefully). 4) They damaged my drywall when one guy was removing the old unit. He tried to carry it out by himself. It was too heavy for him & he dropped it & the corner hit my wall & damaged it. 5) I called & asked to talk to the owner. I was told he would return my call. It has been 2 weeks & he hasn't returned my call.

I APPRECIATE MANAGEMENT RESOLVING THIS ISSUE. THANK YOU! The other day we had an issue with this company and the service that they had performed. I called to have them come look at our A/c unit and see what was wrong since they just performed a service on the unit. They wanted me to pay an additional service fee to come see what was wrong. After a "heated" conversation, the result was for me to end the call and call a competitor. The competitor did help over the phone and gave me suggestions to get the unit working, which was very nice. This fix was only temporary and we needed to set up a service call anyway with the competitor. However, on Saturday morning I received a phone call from the service manager at Hammocks. He apologized to me for the issue with customer service and any inconveniences that this may have caused us. He then offered and sent a service tech out on a Saturday to look at my unit and would not charge any service fee. Thank you Management and the Service Tech for making this issue right. You have kept a customer. I retract all my previous comments and hope that future customers can see past what for me looking back on is a "minor" issue.

I had a major water leak from my HVAC area which was saturating my carpet & laundry room. Barry McGowan came out from Hammocks quickly & did a truly great job diagnosing the situation. He was very helpful, friendly, and it didn't cost me a fortune!

I had a problem with my furnace, i.e., fan was noisy when it kicked on. Called Hammock in AM and was able to get a service tech to come in PM. Barry checked the heating component of the furnace and determined it needed a new capacitor. Work was completed quickly and in a professional manner. I have and will continue to utilize Hammock for my HVAC needs.

Beware of the bait and switch! Were quoted $4995 for a new furnace and a/c. They ran our credit, all was well... but, the unit we were quoted (in writing) is no longer made. We could get the newer one for only $800 more... oh, and we were quoted the $4995 price of a special that was "all over the internet"... well, go to their web site.. .their coupon is for $3989.... so we were 1) quoted $1000 more then their advertised special, and 2) quoted on a unit that isn't sold (but can be found at wholesalers on the internet).... Won't call these folks again..

The coupon on the internet for $3989 is for a completely different system than you were quoted. You were quoted $4999 for an 80% furnace unfortunately, we did make a mistake, the technician wrote down the wrong model number. The model number that he wrote down is for a 95% furnace that is no longer manufactured by Amana, they only offer the 96% furnace. You can always buy things on the internet that are no longer made as there is stock on shelves somewhere I suppose. I did offer you the 96% furnace that is still manufactured by Goodman with an Amana A/C and coil at the $4995 price you were quoted which would have provided you the efficiency of the more expensive system. The coupon for $4995 that we advertise is for a 16 SEER A/C with and 80% variable speed furnace. The system that this customer wanted was an Amana 96% variable speed furnace with a Honeywell Vision Pro 8000 3 heat/2 cool, drain pan, float switch, Honeywell Whole House air cleaner 16x25x5. We were also going to make this Wi-Fi compatible by running a new thermostat wire for $5799. Unfortunately, you hung up on me several times and did not want to hear what I felt like was a reasonable solution to the error. Our warranty would be the same for either system.
I have been a Hammocks customer for over 15 and continued to be pleased with the level of service and professionalism their folks bring (wouldn't come back if I wasn't,right). This time,had a simple furnace check done; Barry was on time, completed the checkup and left; short and sweet. Give them a try if you need some work done, I sure you will be satisified...

I had 4 companies give me estimates and Hammock's was $20,000 less than the others for 3 outside air conditioners that were stolen from a shopping center that I manage. They did a great job and were very professional. I will use them exclusively for all my properties.

I just had John and Richard come out to replace the cracked coil causing a water leakage in my air-conditioner. They were extremely knowledgeable and professional. John also has extensive knowledge in mold restoration since he is certified from his previous career and since I am having renovations done from water damage/mold he was able to answer questions regarding my mold issues as well. I definately had peace of mind when they left knowing my airconditioner stopped leaking since I was already dealing with water damage in the house. John and Richard are great. I would ask for them if they are available.

I called Hammock's to get my two AC units tuned up for the summer since they were running a special. The technician spent almost no time looking at the units and stated that both should be replaced because a fan was cracked in one of the units. He then said that I could replace both of the fan motors but he wouldn't recommend that because of the age of the units and the cost of the fan motors. He then stated that he couldn't accept the coupon and would have to charge for a service call (which, of course, was more). He then added "look on the bright side, the service call fee would be taken into account if I had them put in the replacement units". He left me with a quote of $1455 to replace the 2 fan motors and 1 fan blade or replace both units. I did a bit of research and without to much trouble was able to find the original equipment fan motor on-line for $150 each while the fan blade is $70. I certainly understand the need for a markup and cost of labor but this to me looks like a company trying to take advantage of a situation. How many people have been hoodwinked by this company into paying for things they didn't need! In reality, a fan will need to be replaced in the one unit and maybe even a fan motor but the other unit is running just fine! No need for a new motor at all (or anything else for that matter).

When my 22 year old A/C stopped working, I called 3 companies for estimates. James, the salesman from Hammocks seemed to be the most knowledgeable and offered various options to me. Never having used them before, I was a bit reluctant but finally decided to give them a try. Eric and Michael who came out to do the installation were prompt, courteous, and very professional. They answered any questions I had and did a great job.

I had my old HVAC system go out and I got estimates from 3 companies. Hammocks had a resonably price, they were prompt, professional, and did a great job to my satisfaction. I had extra tasks involved like reworking the ductwork for better flow, and they were very good on accomodating all my needs. I'm an engineer who likes quality, and these guys really paid attention to details.

I will never do business again with Hammock's HVAC. I recently had a control board replaced on a unit under warranty. The part was covered, but the labor was not. A part that took 15 minutes to install cost me $180 as they have a 2 hour minimum on labor. This is a racket and a rip off especially for a customer who had already spent thousands having them add the new furnace a couple of years earlier.
