I purchased a Groupon for this company for 4 hours of handyman service and they would not honor the groupon and charged me an additional $240 for 3.75 hours of work. I would never use again.

I have never hired anyone to do anything. I hired this company because I didn't have the time to do a small project. Their quote was just a little higher than I wanted to pay, but not too much to argue about. They did schedule someone to come out and quote promptly, and he arrived early. He seemed to know what he was talking about. When we scheduled the work, he arrived on time. I did have most of the materials here for him. The job took longer than it should have. The items installed had to be adjusted by yours truly after the job was done. Some major, some minor. Major, was things chronically being the wrong size. More than 1/8" off, but often just 1/16". And backwards. Not good. The most disappointing thing was I discovered there was no sanding, no hole filing, and no taping prior to priming and painting my job. There was NO prep work whatsoever. This should have been standard. I learned to never call someone when you are capable of doing the job yourself, even if you think you don't have time. I really wanted this to work out, because I have never hired anyone to do work that I am capable of doing before. Unfortunately, I will not hire them again.

I called Handyman Connection for an estimate to screen in a small porch. My call was promptly handled and the appointment scheduled. The appointment scheduled for 3:30 pm came and went with no word from the individual I was expecting. While I was waiting, I checked out kudzu for reviews, most of which were bad. I did call Handyman once again to let them know no one showed up and after reading the reviews changed my mind about doing business with them. The office manager practically begged me to give them another chance, which I did. This guy shows up at 6:45, was professional and obviously had been in this business for quite some time. The estimate was ridiculously high, and did not include the materials. My recommendation, do not call these people.

Came to my house to give an estimate on a Friday... was late for the appointment should have been my first clue... promised to e-mail an estimate the following Monday .... received nothing ... called the office Wednesday and the person called me and said they would send it that night ... NOTHING .... the following MONDAY I called the office again and they promised to fax it to me .... NOTHING... I guess I should consider my self lucky not to have gone any further with these people as I will not tolerate slackers.

We were so disappointed and frustrated with our experience with the Handyman Connection Marietta franchise. They were unprofessional and unreliable. The work was not done properly, and the warranty repair work took forever to get done and still wasn't great. I sincerely regret hiring them to do our work and would never hire them again for any purpose. If you use them, BE CERTAIN the handyman they send is actually capable of doing the work he says he is; it seems the company doesn't screen their employees to verify their qualifications. The man who did our work was clearly in over his head. The work looks like we did it ourselves (or worse -- I think we could have done better!). Be careful about using this company!
