Neatly attired. Nice guy. Showed up on time as promised. Had quoted roughly $100 plus material to patch a small drywall hole in the ceiling where a small outside leak had, in two year, moistened an area and made it drop. I also asked him to caulk the roof edge where it had leaked outside (extra charge). Wife got a bill for $339.25. Included a $30 service call charge, $52.50 for picking up the materials. $99.25 for the materials...including paint rollers, sheetrock tape, and a five gallon tub of mud...which he didn't leave. This was all for a hole in the drywall about 18" long by maybe 4" wide, that only needed nailed and re-mudded. No new drywall needed. I think I was expecting something slightly north of $200, but low threes (and keeping the supplies I paid for) was a surprise. I think if I had been pitched a quality job at quality job pricing, I would have been OK with this. I was pitched "home handyman" small job/small bill repair. I would have done it myself if I had known it was going to be $340.
