I saw Dr. Hathaway throughout my pregnancy and I can say that she is fantastic. She worked with me to manage my PIH (high blood pressure) and help me deliver a beautiful, healthy baby! I can't say enough good things about her. She is easy to talk to and very caring. Also, extremely knowledgeable even when it comes to new research. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Hathaway delivered my first son in Nov 2004 and saw me during second pregnancy. She was patient with me and my family was very warm and personable. My son's heart rate kept dropping during labor due to his cord being around his neck but she handled the situation without putting me in a panic. She even took time to comfort my mother who kept crying in the delivery room. LOL I think she is great.

I was 39 wks pregnant when I thought I was going into labor w/my 2nd child. I was planning to have a VBAC so I wasn't sure if I was beginning labor or not, since my 1st preg. was quite different. It was 2AM when I called her practice and she happened to be on call. After I told her my problem she said, with an annoyed voice, "Didn't anyone give you the 36 week talk?" Obviously not, because I wouldn't have called. Then she went on to say that you don't call for the issue I was experiencing. (Thanks for the reassurance, doc.) Also, I had just moved from another state and still had my old phone #. She spent the last few minutes telling me that I should get a 404 or 770 number because it "costs money to call". (Like it didn't cost ME anything??) Then she went on to complain that her cel phone doesn't get good reception in the hospital, and that's why I should change my number. Obviously she was more interested in her cel phone than my possible labor. I really needed her to be more reassuring and encouraging, but instead she was annoyed with me for calling and making her dial long distance. On top of that, the next day, she made her secretary call me MULTIPLE times to schedule a c-section even though it was clearly stated on my records that I was planning to have a VBAC. Her secretary even called me at the hospital to schedule a c-section AFTER I had already delivered VAGINALLY. Incredible! I don't recommend her to anyone, pregnant or otherwise.
