If you love your pet like me DON'T TAKE THEM HERE, 1/23/2014

I took my dog in for entropion surgery. They quoted me a price 100 dollars more than the original quote on the day of surgery after they had taken my dog back. When I brought my dog home they... didn't give her any pain medicine except Metacam which is an athritis medicine equivalent to Advil. About 4 hours after I arrived home I had to take my dog to get stronger pain meds. Twelve days later while Dr. Jackson took out the stitches, my dog pulled back (what a surprise) and Dr. Jackson ripped open her surgical site. He charged me to repair his mistake. I contacted the office several times over a two week period to try and get the charges reversed. I was passed around until the Owner Dr. Hall sent me an ugly e-mail telling me not to come to his clinic anymore, refused my refund, and to remove the new stitches that were put in to fix Dr.Jackson mistake. I had to take my dog to another vet and pay to have the stitches removed. I am out several hundred dollars more than the original surgery cost. They don't have after hours care either. When your pet has surgery after 6:00PM you are on your own. If there are any problems you have go to an emergency vet and pay more. If you want Dr. Jackson to rip your dogs face and make you pay extra to restitich it and get an ugly e-mail from the owner threatening to sue you, after getting a 2 week run around this is the place for you! If you love your pet like I do, DO NOT TAKE THEM TO HEART OF SUWANEE. It is a nightmare

Mometamax - warning!, 8/01/2013

My 4 year old went in for a typical grooming, and I was told he had an ear infection. Agreed to have vet look at him, prescribed medications, without giving any warnings on side effects. Important... side effects, like going deaf. I noticed after approx 4 days on the medication, he was not responding to noise, but thought he was just recovering from infection. His ears were healthy looking. Took him back to the vet today, out of concern that he continues not to respond to noise, and doctor Tim Jackson said it was a rare side effect. I should have been told before using this product that it "could" cause deafness. It's not acceptable to prescribe a medication, without full disclosure. I'm sure there are plenty of products out there could have cleared up an ear infection without the risk of going deaf. I would never put ear drops in a child knowing it "could" cause deafness. I trusted my vet, and shouldn't.

The only vet I trust.

Like other posters, I used to split my veterinary business among two vets in Suwanee. I have made the switch to Heart of Suwanee. I feel valued as a client at Heart of Suwanee, and I really feel like I get my money's worth when I take my two dogs in. Both Drs. Golden and Jackson have spent so much time with me when my pets have had problems. It's not just a 3-minute visit. They actually listen to you, consider what you have to say and work with you to come up with a plan. And, I've never had a problem talking with them on the phone, either. The staff--from the front desk to the registered veterinary technicians (not just vet techs, there is a difference)--is fantastic. Look, there's a reason other animal hospitals run coupons for free office visits. It's because you get what you pay for. We'll go to Heart of Suwanee for now.

Pets not fed properly; medicine not given

Very disappointed when we picked our pets up to see they had not been fed correctly or given their medicine. When the staff was questioned they just shrugged it off. We had used this vet a few years, but no more. Our pets are our children too.

I do not recommend this center

I was quoted a price over the phone to get my dog washed there. I called again to verify before leaving the house and then when I got to the center, the price was higher. I gave them an exact description of my dog over the phone (long haired, 100 lb golden retriever). They also wanted to tack on a "kennel cough" nose spray charge of around $10.00 which they did not tell me about over the phone. I was very disappointed and left without having my dog washed there.

Question everything they tell you

We made kennel reservations here for our 2 dogs about 3 weeks ahead of time to board them over the Thanksgiving holiday. A week prior to dropping them off we called and made arrangements for both dogs to be groomed on Friday just before we were to pick them up. The person making the appointment mentioned that they would be closed the weekend after Thanksgiving but would have no problem grooming them on the Friday. When we arrived to drop off the dogs on Wednesday afternoon and brought up the grooming appointment the front desk person proceeded to lie to us. Her story was that the place never makes grooming appointments until the people actually walk in with the dog(s). She went on to say that their groomer was scheduled off because they did not have any appointments for Friday???????? My wife and I looked at one another in disbelief. Not only had they made the arrangements with us they now were making up some kind of lie to cover the fact that their groomer ended up not being available! I really really hope that this kind of dishonesty does not come into play when it's a matter of a pet's medical care. We will never take that chance. As noted here on Kudzu there are several reputable vets in the same area.
