I have to wonder at the 2 previous reviews! I have NEVER had a bad experience with Dr. Helton or his office. Yes, there have been some over long wait times, but knowing how long Dr. Helton has been in practice and how good he is, it is no surprise! Did those 2 reviewers ever let the office know of their displeasure? As for the nurse practitioner's, I have found they spend more time with me than anyone. My teenager's refuse to see anyone BUT the nurse practitioner! It is unfortunate someone else had a bad experience, but that is not what I have experienced.

We have been a patient at this location for 15+ years. We can never get an appointment with the Dr. but only with the nurse. They keep you waiting even though you have an appointment. I don't think we should keep paying high insurance premiums to be seen by an undertrained nurse when we call in with an illness. The nurse prescribed me the wrong antibiotic for a very severe sinus infection. I took it as directed but continued to be very ill with no improvement. I finally went to the Urgent Care and the Dr. was quite upset to learn what I had been prescribed! No wonder I wasn't getting better, it was for something else but definitely NOT for a serious sinus infection. This Urgent Care physician knew exactly what to prescribe and within 48 hours I began to feel relief. I am now well again but trust me, I will never step foot into Wellstar Dr. helton's office again and I am warning you not to either. They should be shut down!

My husband was having health issues and became concerned they were something serious. Out of the multiple appointments he had at Dr Helton's office, he only saw the doctor once. The rest of the time he had to see his nurse practitioner. Dr. Helton's office staff is completely incompetent. They had a nurse who was not well versed in English call with important test results. When my husband asked simple follow up questions, she couldn't answer them. Fast forward several months worth of expensive and useless testing and it was something very simple that another doctor figured out by asking a few questions. If Dr. Helton had taken the time to get a simple history and ask a couple of questions, it would have saved us hundreds of dollars in co-pays and months of worry.

Dr. Helton has great clinical & people skills. He is the best Dr. that I have ever seen. Great Doctors surround themselves with super staff like Jodi, Dr. Ali and other support personnel.

Dr. Helton is the best and most thorough primary care physician I have ever had. He listens to what I say and has time to talk to me. I wish I had found him years ago.

Both my husband and I see Dr. Helton. I am now switching my teenage daughter over from her pediatrician to begin seeing him because he is so gracious, knowledgeable and thorough. I know she will feel as comfortable if not more with him than she did with her pediatrician.

Dr. Helton has been our families PCP for over 8 years. He always makes his patients feel comfortable and answers all their questions in a way that can be understood.

Dr. Helton has been my PCP for 5+ years, after a close friend recommended him. I've not been disappointed. He stays away from techno-jargon, and provides care in a supportive, professional manner. His staff is also excellent. If he's accepting more patients, take advantage of the opportunity to help yourself.
