POOR CHOICE FOR A DOCTOR, 1/27/2009

Vinicio Hernandez = BAD CHOICE! My fiancé WAS supposed to be being treated by Dr. Hernandez for a form of lung cancer. When he was diagnosed (in the ER) and then released from the hospital, not only... was he NOT able to get an appointment with the doctor, he went for more than 3 weeks with no word from Dr. Hernandez. As an independent contractor, he didn’t have insurance. This apparently is Hernandez’ main concern because that is all his office kept asking about. While waiting and hoping to get in to see Hernandez, my fiancé came down with pneumonia and was re-hospitalized. Only THEN was he able to start Chemo. ONLY START IT, because as soon as he left the hospital this (2nd) time he again could never get in with the doctor. After another few weeks of this nonsense, he asked for another cancer specialist and was given one. When the new doctor (who happens to be very good) searched my fiancé’s records, Dr Hernandez not only DID NOT EVEN LIST the type of chemo he was on in his file, but didn’t even notate that he’d started treatment at all. I think Vinicio Hernandez is a very very poor excuse for an oncologist.
