For my precious 1 year old's first birthday I wanted to get something special, so I shelled out WAY TOO MUCH money for 7" round birthday cake from Highlands Bakery. It was absolutely without a doubt the worst cake I have ever had in my life. I thought Henri's was bad! Highlands was inedible. My 1 yr old enjoyed it but no one else did. I'm certain the sugar was left out of the cake. I picked it up Friday afternoon and it was completely dried out by Saturday night. I'm so disappointed and I will never return. Don't waste your time or your money on Highlands Bakery. It is incredibly expensive and I feel like I should've been paid to take the cake. DISGUSTING.

We went to highland bakery this past saturday for breakfast after getting the cupcakes on a few previous trips. Had chicken with poached eggs on a half of biscuit....was very tasty. My older child got the kids french toasts which had two sauces on the side which were to die for.

I must say the food their is good.. I gave it a 1 star because the SERVICE IS TERRIBLE.. I feel they don't really care about their service to the customers because they are really busy.. Well as I have visited the place serveral times. My last visit was so horrible, it made me write this review.. 1st they tried to sit me and my partner in this corner where the table was crammed , we would have had to squeeze in it to sit at the table .. So I went back to the front informed the hostess that we would rather wait on another table.. Well they said we can sit you at the bar, we were hungry after waiting 30 minutes for table.. so the bar was fine.. When we sat down they took our drink order, then came back about 10minutes later to take our food order.. We place our order.. and waited 30 minutes.. minutes no food.???? we decided to wait 10 more minutes ... still no food?? so after 40 minutes.. we left. I told the manager at the door we were leaving because we had been waiting 40 minutes an our food is not out.. He looked at us and said "ok".... he didnt apologize or anything... So that tells me THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATRONS , BECAUSE THEY HAVE ENOUGH BUSINESS... WELL THEY WILL NOT GET MY BUSINESS EVER AGAIN.

When I lived in the area, I used to stop by here quite often to pick up a muffin and a cup of coffee on my way to school. Both were good. Their baked goods are fresh and generous. I've sat down to have breakfast several times and they were decent too. Pancakes were light and fluffy, the French toast was crisp on the outside, soft inside. It was served quickly and came out hot.

Best pancakes ever. you don't even need syrup b/c they are the perfect amount of sweetness with a little brown sugar and pecans. I love this place. Everything I've ever had is delicious. THe wait is a little long on Sundays but it's totally worth it. Nice and good servers. The best bread pudding ever. The prices are reasonable (a brick of bread pudding will last me for 4 days and is only $5!). Parking is sort of an issue but it's not awful at all. Definitely try this place. Note, though, that htey close I think at 4 most days, maybe a little earlier.

Saturdays will have this place hopping! It's a cool place for brunch or lunch, though the streetside "patio" is loud with the cars passing by. Good sandwiches and breakfast dishes that don't leave you needing a nap after dining.

I tried this place for Brunch on Sunday as it had been raved and raved to me. I have to agree, the sweet potato pancakes live up to the hype. The crab cakes eggs benedict did not however, bland and soggy. Pastries A-Go Go and Vinocity have better eggs benedict in my honest opinion. Food was a bit on the pricy side as well. But if you are craving incredible pancakes, this place will deliver.

This place still has that neighborhood bakery feel. The servers are friendly, and everyone appears to be happy you've come to visit. The food is amazing! I recommend the peanut butter french toast. It's quite a treat.
