Probably a great place to get your drink on, but as a restaurant, not so much. What would have been a perfectly average ribeye was decimated by fishy, seemingly reconstitued crawfish in a tepid hollandaise sauce. Yes the babyback ribs were "fall off the bone" but also were dry and lifeless with a bbq sauce so overpowering that you might as well have been eating soylent green for all you knew. Otherwise the draft beer was good and the service better than expected. Maybe the chef was sick that day but I will be hard pressed to return based on the food after feeling a bit queasy for the rest of the evening.

The Highland Tap is a good place to go for a few drinks. The atmosphere in the bar area has a very rustic pub feel to it. The food is pretty pricey and I found that the dining area was way too dark to the point where it was hard to see the menu.

The food is great and the service is really good. Also, the prices are some of the best in the Highlands. The only problem is the scene is a little older, maybe upper 20/30s, for my taste, but that is a personal problem. Unique location as it is underground.

My daughter & I tried them out as a special from OpenTable. Had no idea it's geared more toward adult hangout. It was smoky, a bit dated and the bar was full (on a Wednesday). We were pleasantly surprised with great service by our waitress and a delicious meal. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. I usually have to send mine back to the kitchen. Everything was tasty. It's like a pub with a nice restaurant. It makes my other steakhouse taste like a chain restaurant. Will be back and try drinks with friends.

11 of my friends and I descended on the Highland Tap (with a reservation) at 7:30 on a Friday night. They sat us without the complete party being present. The waiter was PHENOMENAL, remember every single request however bizarre. I highly recommend it. The food's pretty good too!

THis is a really cool old time bar/restaurant that you can hang with your friends during a long leisurely lunch and not be bothered by obnoxious wait staff. They are attentive and get you what you want fast. Their spinach salad is the best in Atlanta. Highly recommended by the 35+ crowd who sometimes like to sneek a nice cool libation during lunch.
