Highlander, The

My co-workers and I love this place for lunch. We like to sit out on the patio under the umbrellas and relax. The food is always good and the service is very friendly and fast.

Unbelievable bar food, some of the best I've had. The bratwurst melt is incredible! Good games and TV's so you can watch everything!

The Highlander offers good prices, friendly service, and one heck of a great menu for being a bar. The atmosphere is the best thing about this bar, though -- it's sort of like a punkish version of Cheers. Not only are the staff members friendly, so are the patrons. They have an air hockey machine and pool tables -- not great quality tables (for that, go upstairs to The Independent), but good for a friendly game.

Most of the other reviews are accurate in my opinion. Smoky, maybe the food's too greasy at times, and the service is spotty. They do have a fair selection of beers and the pool table/darts trappings.
Someone said "Goths and bikers-lite" and that can sum up a typical crowd. I don't like the place when its packed, but early evening is usually a good time to go.

the drinks are ok, mid range priced beers, fun pool, air hockey, pinball games, trivia and bingo nites fun but the servers suck! all the bartenders have a chip on their shoulder . food is good but a little expensive for bar food, veggie options. very smokey beware
