I have seen many good indie movies at this cinema but overall I have a love hate relationship with this cinema. I feel it's a bit over rated. Granted it's in the "heart" of Hillcrest, they show awesome movies, no commercials, old theater feeling. But honestly you can find the same thing at the Ken Theater, except you get more room to be seated in, nicer staff, better parking options, clean bathrooms and theater for the most part (not sticky floors like here before a movie even starts) and you aren't in a mall like setting for a small theater which makes it easy to get in and out of. HC as all those problems. Those issues are integral aspects of a movie going experience. I want to adore this theater but in comparison to its A and B student siblings it barely passes the test with a C-.

The Landmark theatres are the only place I can find a film worth ignoring my Netflix. This location has nicer theatres than La Jolla. Parking is validated.

It's nice to see a local theater that offers movies that aren't big blockbuster. They have independent flicks and old school classics.

This is another local theater to watch independent films. Great people and good indie films. Hard to find parking in Hillcrest though.
