What a disappointment!!! The facilities aren't bad, but the customer service and attention to details are awful. To me trust is paramount when selecting a doggy daycare, and this place has lost my trust.

My husband and I have been bringing our two labs here for two years now. My husband and I both work late hours and rely on services like this to take care of our dogs during our late hours. We also rely on the 7 to 7 schedule and work to the last possible minute. One night my husband showed up a few minutes late after calling with no answer, and found the entire place locked up, lights out, and no person in sight. We had no clue what had been done to our dogs, and read nowhere about a policy concerning lateness. Furious, we called the manager who refused to return and finally the owner who came out at 9 o'clock to give us our dogs referred to this as a "big accommodation." I hardly see this as an accommodation when neither my husband or I were notified of any such policy nor were we called for consent to locked up our dogs for boarding. When our dogs were locked up a second time, after running a few minutes late, without a call or written policy, we were expected to pick them up the next day and pay for boarding. My husband got into an argument instigated by the manager. In an e-mail from the owner she stated that she was a lawyer and "confused by my threats of slander/defamation of character" after telling her I would let the public know about our experience with Hip Hounds.

We have been taking our dog, Marley, to Hip Hounds Doggie Daycare and Boarding since we moved here in October 2007. She LOVES going to daycare. She is excited when she knows she's going to "school" for the day and she comes home happy and super tired. The staff is WONDERFUL. Michael works the morning and Megan manages the afternoon. They are both fabulous. Hip Hounds has web cameras so you can check up on your dog during the day. They have separate areas for big and small dogs and indoor/outdoor facilities if it's too hot or raining outside. I never worry about Marley when she is boarded there (and I'm usually a big worrier!) because I know they are caring for her like she is one of their own. They are fantastic. I can't recommend them enough.
