I used this business about five years ago and was basically happy, despite one bad memory (installers showed up 45 minutes early despite my admonition/plea both the day before AND that very morning, when they called.and they were rude when I reminded them I'd set a specific time)so I tried it again. This time the installer was prompt and courteous. The carpet was as ordered, and it was installed on the day I requested. However, there were a couple of lumps beneath it, and when I mentioned this to Dave (the owner) he ignored it. I had thought perhaps a small rebate (not a redo), maybe a couple hundred dollars. I faxed my concern to him and he sent in reply only an invoice (paid) for the full amount. No acknowledgment of the problem. I called several times and no one answered the phone (this seemed odd). An interesting thing about physicians: the ones who are sued aren't the ones who commit the egregious errors but the ones who don't listen to their patients, who are dismissive or tuned out. It's that feeling of being ignored that motivates people to take action. And that's why, despite the positive aspects of this experience, I am hear with my complaint, rather than enjoying some Godiva truffles or a small check from the company's owner. I didn't get even ""Oh, I'm sorry to hear that"" or ""Let me come and look at the problem."" The lumps don't flatten down, they don't move, and they make noise when you step on them. It's less than perfect workmanship. I will live with it, of course, but cordiality and acknowledgment seem relevant to me. \r\rI would have been placated by even lip service courtesy. \r\rBy my lights, Dave is not a classy guy....
