I had a leaking kitchen sink. Independence came out the same day and repaired at a very reasonable price and did a great job. The tech and customer service was outstanding. Highly recommended company .

Their technician tried using scary terminology such as out of code. In reality it was not out of code. Independence plumbing wanted to charge me $1,100 for this service. Of course I declined. Got in touch with a reputable Plumbing Company they took care of it for less than half the price. Please do your background checks.

This company quickly responded to a gas line emergency at my house. Their work passed county inspection the next day. Very pleased and highly recommend!

It took them three weeks instead of promised 4-5 days to "finish" drain field installation in our front yard. Instead of marking and cutting existing sprinkler system lines and working around those pipes Independence employees pulled all the pipes out of the ground and literally ripped them apart while digging for the field drain. They damaged sprinkler heads and completely ruined three zones of our sprinkler system. We didn't know at the time that the estimate for the repair of three sprinkler zones would be $600.00 per zone. I had a conversation with Mr. Rogers (he always promises to call you back but never will, you have to "catch" him), he proposed Independence should fix our sprinklers for $300.00 less than other company. Would you let them to come back on your property? I don't think so... Plus their employees told us that they were not qualified and experienced enough to work with sprinkler systems period. Now Mr. Rogers is hiding from me again with a promise to look again into my invoices and call me back. I have nothing else to do but take this matter to court and BBB; It cost us $3,600.00 to install the new drain field; we paid half at the beginning and half on the last day of installation; It will cost us at least $1,500.00 to fix damaged sprinkler lines. I just wonder how they stay in business?

Calling this company turned out to be a nightmare! I started to give the job to a Bigger company - but decided to stay local (I wont make that mistake again). This company replaced my expensive parts with weaker and CHEAPer parts -becuase they wanted to save money and rip me off. When I spoke to BO about the job - I told him that I wanted the work done with similar or better parts. He told me the price would JUMP by $138 (US dollars). I told him that new quote was ludacris - and when i asked him why it would cost so much - he became enraged and started screaming. I was floored BO's lack of "Professionalism" and i use that word very losely. Mind you the more expensive part was only $35 more. Well- 7 hours later after they started - the new part still did not work! When I spoke to BO again - he became defensive - and hung up on me. Bo later called to apologize and said that he had a bad day - and he should not have taken it out on me. Bo agreed to lower the price (if I went with the TECH and purchased $35 the part that I wanted. Well- 8 hours later- what should have been a 1 hour job was finally complete. I was able to turn the water back on - and my family could finally prepare our supper. If you want great service - don't call this company. You deserve better!

First experience last year was good. I should have quit while I was ahead or checked some sites for other comments. Second time was dreadful. When I called back within 24 hours for a follow up on their 1 year labor warranty, they came out. . . but then, with no notice, estimate, contract, or anything, they wanted to charge me 2/3 of their original expensive fee for their original work-- to spend 20 minutes fixing something that went bad before my first check had cleared the bank. To make it worse, some rude person in the office threatened me with a lien within seconds of coming on the phone. Possibly worst contractor experience ever. Actually, the staff seems nice, and the tech was pleasant, but management there is a nightmare.

I called for an estimate for fixing a sewage backup. Bo told me the sewer line needed to be replaced. The price went from $1350 to $1000 when I didn't immeidately give me the job. When I said I wanted to get another estimate, Bo said the price would be $1350 when I called back. Within 2 minutes of Bo leaving, Phillip, the owner, called me and said that I could get other estimates, but they wouldn't do the job if I called back. Needless to say after treatment like that, I wouldn't call back anyway.

My new 80 gallon elect hot water heater that was purchased from them 3 weeks ago ( I also have a 40 gal. hooked up)did not seem to be working properly I had very little hot water for the past 3 weeks I called today and when the tech arrived he said there was no power to it. pulled the breaker and it came on then charged me 200.00 I believe the breaker was never turned back on when it was installed. Never again will I be taken. I am blown away, the other tech Lee has done work for me in the past and was always fair on price. I thought I had found a great plumbing comp. Beware and ask what it will cost before they turn a screw driver or pull a breaker. Or u will be paying 220.00 for 2 minutes.

I had a faucet that was loose, which caused water to stream, and a pipe under my kitchen sink that was dripping. The guy told me that the job would take 3 hours to do. They showed up at 7pm, accessed the situation, left for an hour and a half for parts. Then they came back and put sealant around my kitchen pipe and replaced a spring in my bathtub faucet, both of which costs nothing!!! The actual work took them 20 minutes at best to do. I knew that I was getting ripped off, but I wanted to get this issue handled and they were available and did not charge a trip fee(or so it seemed)!! The final bill was $395.00, and I beat him down from the initial $425.00 he wanted to charge. The work was done, but it was nothing your average handyman could not have done. My advice---don't call this company.
