Brought Wes in to fix some dental molding damage done by rodents as well as repair of a support column. Did excellent work. Later brought one of his framers in to buttress some attic supports who... did it very professionally at a competitive price. Will gladly call on Wes again for my next project.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
Ironhorse Remodeling just created a room in our basement. We were pleased from start to finish. Wes provided his proposal promptly, and it was very competitive. He answers all questions promptly via... email or text and completed the job in 3 days, when we had expected it to take several more. He understood our expectations well, and more than met them. We wwould definitely recommend Ironhorse.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

I had called to set up an appt for a quote at 9am this morning. I understand that the weather was questionable, but they never called to inform me that they were not coming out. I gave him over an hour to give me a call - and still nothing. Iron Horse will not be working on my home - and will not get any references to use them.
Finally, a business that is professional, knowledgeable and really wants to do a good job!, After a bad experience with another company I found on Kudzu, Ironhorse was a wonderful experience. I had a lot of little jobs that just needed a professional hand. Got that with Wes and Steve. I would highly recommend this company. They are now in my phone under "favorites".
We have been very pleased by Wes and his team. We had general handyman needs which were met with professionalism and care. Bill did a wonderful job with our our home. He was friendly and cleaned up nicely after he was finished. Thank you! Would certainly use them again!
I found Wes after reading the reviews of other customers. We had a tree fall on our deck in May after heavy rains. Wes gave us a quote and the work got started. Randall and Mike are a GREAT TEAM!! They showed up early each day and worked a full day. We are very pleased with their work and I would recommend them to anyone needing work done. We love our deck and it is build better than before! Many thanks to Wes, Randall and Mike.
Wes and his guys just wrapped up a large remodel project for us and did an outstanding job. This is the second project we have used Wes on and have been very pleased with both projects upon completion. I would highly recommend him for any project and will continue to use him in the future.
My husband and I recently moved into an older home that we wanted to completely renovate. We hired Wes based upon a recommendation from a friend who had work done by Wes a few years ago. Wes and his team completely transformed our little 1950's ranch style home into the most enjoyable, livable and elegant space. We loved working with Wes as he was not only patient with us and all of our demands :-) but was so informative, creative and ethical. Remodeling an entire house is no easy feat but Wes and his team made the process as smooth as they possibly could given the challenges that existed with such an older home. Thanks again Wes and team, we just love you guys and our new home!!
We had a a bathroom remodel done by Wes at Iron Horse remodeling. Everything started out fine, but a number of issues resulted in a poor experience and we would not recommend working with Wes. Communication - We expressed some disappointment during the tile portion of the project and we rarely heard from Wes. At one point we went 16 days without hearing from Wes. We emailed a reminder about our punch list and we thought Wes had abandoned the job, but apparently they were still waiting on some parts to come in. Response time - Many calls and texts went unanswered leaving us wondering about the status of our project. Responsibility - We felt the final responsibility should have been with Wes who our contract was with. Wes's subcontractor made all of the requests for payment and it seemed like after the first week Wes wasn't interested in anything but collecting checks. We refused to give final payment to the sub so we could share this feedback with Wes in person. Expectations of our availability - We would have expected to be briefed on most major decisions so we could make them ahead of time. Instead most of the subs had numerous questions throughout the project and we were lucky I was able to work from home and answer many. Project timing - Many of the issues were caused by Wes's lack of availability. We didn't realize when choosing the project date Wes's wife would be having a baby 2 weeks in. We would have preferred to plan our project at another time.
I hired Wes because of all the positive feedback I read on this website and his price was reasonable. He also wrote in his contract that work would be completed in 14 to 21 working days, which I knew was impossible but admired his ambition. The lack of coordination between him and his workers was astounding. I gave him a very clear drawing of the cabinet layout, floor tile layout, and fireplace layout. Yet, the tile installer still managed to lay the tile wrong in the kitchen and asked questions about the hearth layout as if he never saw the drawing. The cabinet installer didn't have a copy of the cabinet layout and had to uninstall the trash cabinet and sink base to move them after I provided him the layout. The electrician had to come out a third time after I mentioned that the pendant lights still hadn't been installed. The worst part was that after seven weeks of "work", my kitchen was not even close to being done, my brand new appliances sat collecting dust for weeks and most of the trash and debris was left in the condo the whole time. My place was uninhabitable for 3 months. After threatening to fire them, Wes offered to paint my place for free. I accepted the offer which added another two and a half weeks to a job that could have been done in 2 days. The end result was what I wanted, (minus the floor tile layout), but the journey there was incredibly painful.
Turnaround time for receiving a quote was very reasonable for the finishing of a basement bedroom. I was also pleased with the professionalism of the construction crews. Overall quality of the finished product was excellent. Would recommend for consideration.
Wes and his crew did an excellent job on the project. Wes came out to assess the damages done to my foundation. His crew came out early Saturday and hand dug trentches around the area (this saved me). They repaired the area and applied waterproofing. The crew came back a few days later after the waterproofing had dried, to apply additional coats. After Wes final inspection, I was signed, seal and delivered. Great fast job guys.
Wes responded swiftly with an estimate and provided excellent communication throughout the project. He and his team ripped out our decaying porch, assessed the inherent damage (90 year-old home), proposed a plan to both stabilize the porch and accommodate our wants/needs, and ultimately exceeded our expectations with his craftsmanship. We had to compromise the original plan because of someone's previous poor construction, and Wes' solution was way better than our original plan. The only negative was that project took a little longer than we had expected... even when taking into account the unforeseen adjustments and reinforcements. Our only inconvenience, however, was having to board our dog during the project. Wes and crew made up for it by repairing a random problem area on our back deck without me even asking them. We'll definitely use Wes again and again and again.
We contracted with Iron Horse to repair our master shower tile floor. This is perhaps the hardest of tile applications as the damaged area was around the drain; thus requiring sloping the floor and curve cutting around the drain. I had attempted to repair it myself with less than stellar results. After emailing Iron Horse Wes immediately responded and maintained prompt communication from initial estimation through job completion and satisfaction follow-up. The team performed their tasks in a professional manner and the finished product exceeded our expectations. With reasonable costs and quality performance, we recommend Iron Horse and will utilize them in the future.
We selected Wes to renovate our small family home because his quote was on the lower end of the three that we received and because he seemed honest. However, we learned quickly that his prices seemed to increase with every little thing we added to the repair/renovation list. He repeatedly promised to have work completed by a certain date, but never delivered each time. We are out of state homeowners, and on one occasion, we flew into GA expecting to see the completed work, but instead were met with an incomplete project. On the same visit, we got into an argument with him because he didn't do a few things that we had paid him to do. He swore that he never agreed to do them until we showed him the signed proposal which included this work. On the day that new carpet was supposed to be installed, his guys were a no-show causing a great deal of inconvenience. When he finally completed the renovations, everything looked relatively good except that he never cleaned up the dirt left everywhere, even though he told us initially that he brings in people to clean up after his work. Recently, I made the mistake of contacting him to provide a quote for a few minor repairs. I had flown in from out of state and was in town for only 4 days. He promised that he would stop by, but he was a no-show and didnít even bother to return my phone calls- this seems to be a recurring theme, as other reviewers here have experienced the same thing. The best word to describe him is simply "unreliable."
