This is a bit of an unusual situation. This man was hired by the previous owner of our house in April to fix a broken sprinkler valve that our house inspector found. We subsequently closed on the house only to find the same valve leaking. Not a little leak, major mud and the entire housing filled with water. He charged the previous owner aprox. $250 for the repair. I called him to inform that the leak had returned. Left, message never returned my call. Then called him again and he picked up. Proceeded to tell me that he would come back to fix the valve but it would involve massive amounts of work, and gave me an estimate of $300-$500. Even mentioned that if any other company came out to repair the problem it would be $1200. As he saw it the problem was the sprinkler shut off valve was malfunctioning and he needed to take out our holly bush (8 feet high), dig up our water meter and install a new sprinkler shut off valve. Only then would he be able to properly seal the pipe to the new valve. I was incredulous. Called highly rated Ridgeway Mechanical. They came out, located the shut off valve for the sprinkler (in two minutes) which worked just fine, and covered with pine straw, obviously Jowell Thome had not ever located it, and repaired the leak. $39.00. They are not a sprinkler company, plumbing, but knew what to do with pipe leaks.

We moved into a house that had not used the irrigation system for years. Jowell throughly went through the system, replacing broken sprinkler heads, finding leaks and optimizing for minimal watering. Fair price for work and parts.

Jowell and his guys will be invited back to work with us to get our expensive and complicated system back in shape. We received a fixed quote which they stuck with, and when something went wrong for us, they were there to fix it immediately, and behaved like true professionals. I would recommend them without reservation.

The name of this business should be Irrigation Rip Off Guy instead of repair guy. I had done a lot of the preliminary work finding out what was wrong and needed someone to find the break. After explaining all that I knew he got very sarcastic like I am the dumb home owner who does not know any thing and proceeded to tell me that he did not need to work and be here. Since he had the electrical equipment to locate the break I told him to find it. Wrong move I should have told him to take a hike. Two and a quarter hours later after testing all the things that had been working and trying to tell me they do not work he finally found the break. When he gave me the bill he tried over charging for his time and he did over charge for parts that he never used. Walking back over the job I discovered all the wires did not have caps (charged for) on them and they were sticking out of the valve wholes and my controller was not back together. I called him he said he billed for the time and that I (the customer) could put the system back together. His rates are extremely high at $155 per hour. Not sure who all those people that think his rate are reasonable for all the no work he did. He doesn’t believe in customer service or repeat business.

PROFESSIONAL CROOKS.THIS COMPANY IS OWNED BY A CROOK WITH NO VERIFIABLE OR CERTIFIED TRAINING!!! Although they put on the appearance of professional and knowledgeable their agenda is to beat you out of as much money as quickly as possible. They do not care about repeat business and have no intention of providing any of the services they offer. They have no certifiable, verifiable training of what they do (bc there is no real legal code or oversight in the state of Ga for the work they do). They literally robbed us of our honest hard earned money without performing absolutely any services. We will also be following up with the necessary authorities to try to recoup our monies back. PLEASE FOR YOUR SAKE DO NOT CALL THEM AND BE FOOLED. The owner Jowell Thome is quick tempered, belligerent and quite frankly seems to have no self control or professionalism. He is a jack of all trades landscaping etc.with inflated and unfixed pricing and you will regret the day you called them. He should not be permitted to own a business. I recorded how he spoke with us unfortunately the rating system doesn't allow you to post otherwise you would see just what we mean. I honestly believe any positive review he has received was done so internally to fool other innocent homeowners. From my research this was not an isolated event. He is no stranger to bad reviews...

I had Jowell give me a quote on some work in my yard - then proceeded to completely change my mind. I also couldn't afford to do everything at once. He worked with me to decide what to do first and continues to help me get the results I am looking for. I have no reservations about recommending this company.

I have done business with The Irrigation Repair Guy for several seasons. He has always been on time to each appointment and provided excellent service at reasonable prices. I had a controller he installed last season that stopped working at the beginning of this season and he replaced it for no charge. I highly recommend Jowell and his company.

He is a liar, a thief and a degenerate. His work is sub-par, and his prices are rediculous. When you confront him as a customer on your dissatisfaction with the service or prices, he becomes beligerant and degrading. Ultimately he hung up on me and won't take my calls. Beware using this guy or his company.

Guy came. Destroyed the wrong valve. Never came back to repair it like he said he would. When he eventually replaced the right valve, it still wasn't working right after he left. Total fly by night. Had to hire someone else to fix what he destroyed and fix the initial job I hired him for. Took me for $380. Got nothing for it. Kept turning to me for advice. Didn't know what he was doing.

Paid to fix a leak, which was fixed. When I turned the water on and there is a much worse leak and he referred another company. I would recommend using a company that can fix and make sure the repair is complete.

We started with a quote of $600 to replace six solenoids and get system working. Jowell got cold feet and decided he would only perform work on T&M basis. After spending 1900, we were told the system was now working. When we went to start up system in spring, only two of the six zones Jowell claimed to have fixed were working. After contacting several times to address, he quit returning calls and failed to return to correct his work.

Jowell is very knowledgable about irrigation systems and works really well with you to come up with the best plus most economical sprinkler solution. He's an extremely hard worker and really decent guy. Would definitely recommend.

I hadn't used my sprinkler system in two years and I broke the master cut off valve trying to turn it on. I found the Irrigation Repair Guy on the web and scheduled a visit. Jowell was in my area three days before my scheduled appointment and had some extra time and asked if he could come early. He had me up an running in about 2 hours and the price was very fair. I would recommend Jowell to anyone.
