Amazing Experience - This practice has it all!!!

I had an amazing birth experience with Isis. I would highly recommend this practice for any expectant mom who wants a place that makes them feel special as opposed to just another number in the baby making mill, which is how I felt at several other practices that I tried before finding Isis. I have now had two babies with Isis, one in 2008 with Margaret and Kay and my second this past Saturday, 8/7/10 with Kim and Dr. Frederick. Although I liked the care I received back in 2008, the care I received this time around was far superior. The staff is amazing, they know you by name, you can get a call back at off hours and on the weekends if needed, and they can work you in around work/kids schedules. This time around I saw both Dr. Frederick and Kim (the midwife) and really liked the balance that created. When I labored for 8 hours with Kim she let me be in the drivers seat trying all natural birth, water birth, and then she was with me with I chose to get an epidural that was weak enough that I could still feel everything in delivery but it took the edge off - it was perfect because this baby was out in two pushes and no tearing since I still had feeling. She helped my husband deliver the baby (which by the way, makes me tear up just thinking about how special that was), she helped me get comfortable after the birth, and they helped me to leave the hospital hours after birth

I am glad to hear that you are happy with your experiences at ISIS. You are such a pleasure to have in the practice. Kim is great, isn't she! I'm sure you and your hubby are deep in the new-baby 24-hour schedule so thank you for taking the time to post a review. See you soon!

I was blessed with 3 beautiful grandbabies during 2009. Thanks to Dr. Frederick and his staff all were born without major trauma. Two of the pregnancies were touch and go the whole way and Dr. Frederick was a real trooper, sticking it out and constantly searching for resolutions. Our family owes Dr. Frederick a great deal of appreciation for his care and concern during a very trying time for us all. We love Dr. Frederick and want everyone to know he is the greatest!

I have had 3 different ob/gyns in the past and Dr. Frederick surpasses them all. My family was under extenuating circumstances since we relocated twice during the pregnancy, and he was so understanding and adjusted our care accordingly. You will never find a more personable, friendly and knowledgeable doctor and staff than at isis. He visited my family often at the hospital and even entertained my two older children. I had such a positive experience with Dr. Frederick that I will continue to make the 2 hour trip to have him as my gynecologist.

Dr. Fredericks office is amazing. Dr. Frederick has delivered both of my little girls and if had not been for him i fear that neither of them would have survived. I was a very high risk patient, he and his office took time to answer all of my questions and concerns that i had, i would recomend EVERYONE to them!

Dr. Hughan Frederick was so kind and considerate of my needs and feelings during my prenancy. He listened to all my fears and I always left feeling better. He came to the hospital as soon as I called him, and bless his heart, he waited patiently with me for 7 hours while i was inactive. When my baby was finally ready to come, he calmly and gently helped her make her way out. My post-pregnancy visits were met with just as much care and kindness as before and the staff and I will always be on a first name basis. I'm only going back now for normal gyno visits, but if I were to get pregnant again, I would be comforted by the fact that my baby is in the best hands from the very start.

I had the best prenatal and postpartum care with my 4th child. I miss being around these ppl so bad I thought about having another child just so that I can see them again;)Dr.Frederick is so down to earth. He made me feel very comfortable and was very in tune with my feelings. He was the first male Doctor to deliver a baby for me and I have to say I think if I was to get pregnant again I would make sure he delivers my 5th. Even after I gave birth he didnt push me to get on birth control and he allowed me to make my own decision on what type to get. I really appreciate that the staff rememebers you even over the phone. They recognized my voice and it was almost like I was friends with them for years. Because of my husband's health insurance I can't use him as my OBGYN for pap smears, but I am working on it right now to see if he would pick up insurance which he is willing to do. I love the ISIS OBGYN staff. They work with your schedule for appointments and the office is very modern. But even if the office wasnt updated I would still go to see Dr. Federick for all my Prenatal Care and other female health concerns!!!!

I never thought in a million years that I would ever find a male OB/GYN that I felt comfortable enough to talk to about intimate issues such as my sexual health or gynecological issues. And certainly never one to disrobe in front of without feeling overly self-conscious. That is until I met Dr. Frederick. I totally forgot that this was a MALE doctor and began to see him as a friend that happened to be a doctor! He is easy to talk to and is always concerned about me as a person, wife, and mother! He is a professional that cares about the total person and does see me as just "another patient." This meant the world to me and this is why I have always and will continue to recommend him to friends and co-workers in need of quality, HUMAN care!

I had an extremely difficult time trying to find someone to even answer the phone so I could make my first OB appointment with our first pregnancy (at other group practices). I was emotional and racked with all kinds of thoughts. That's when I found Dr. Hughan Frederick! He has been a GODSEND!!! His staff is friendly and always eager to answer all our questions. When I experienced bouts of insomnia and e-mailed Dr. Frederick at 2 in the morning, he ALWAYS wrote me back to address whatever concern I had. He personally returned my phone calls instead of filtering messages through his nurses and front desk staff. He's knowledgeable, intelligent, friendly, and a great all around person. I will recommend him to EVERYONE who wants a QUALITY OB or GYN experience!

I have been making a 45 minute drive each way to see the midwives at Isis, and they are discontinuing their midwife practice THREE WEEKS before my due date. I had been going there for EIGHT months. This is not a good thing to do to a first time pregnant woman, but could have been handled in a much more professional manner. There was no acknowledgement of the change of service by the doctor's office I had to find out from a friend who happened to see a letter taped to the counter when she went for an appointment. I received the letter in the mail two weeks later. My biggest complaint is that after I requested my records to be sent to my new doctor, and followed up with a second call asking them to make sure the records were sent, the new Dr.'s office had not received my records. This is COMPLETELY unacceptable and unprofessional. I think Dr. Frederick's office staff is way below par and would not recommend them to ANYONE.

Thank you for standing by me! It is people like you and other posters that have helped us move past the negativity and make the improvements necessary to make our practice even better.
Like several other offices in metro Atlanta, I was forced to close the midwife service. We informed patients verbally and via mail that their practitioners were leaving and we offered options for continuing care or transferring out. We allowed the midwives to stay until they had another practice to transfer to allowing for a smooth transition for those who wanted to follow a provider they had grown accustomed to.
While I certainly understand some patient's disappointment in having to visit a new office, I never estimated that people could be so ill-spirited. As they were midwife patients, I never had an opportunity to even meet many of them yet they posted such venomous attacks without ever being under my care or understanding the circumstances behind the changes.
    But we are moving forward!
Since the transition, we have taken constructive criticism and made changes to ISIS that we have heard is better suiting our clients. For instance we are:
Making more appointment times available - There are times when you need to see someone immediately. Now, at ISIS, you can. Just give us a call.
Working to minimize wait times - Everyone is busy and no one wants to spend time waiting to see the doctor. With our new system, you shouldn't have to wait.
Electronic medical records system - This will help us keep meticulous track of your health and accurately share your information with a hospital or other doctors overseeing your care.
3D/4D ultrasounds - These photo-like images allow expectant parents to catch a glimpse of what their new addition looks like well before their due date.
Johns Creek office now open - You can now see your doctor in our new location across from the Emory Johns Creek Hospital should it be more convenient for you.
As we have come out of this transition, we are now an even stronger practice that is more nimble and better able to serve your very special needs.
    Thanks again,
    Dr. Hughan Frederick

My experience was not good,at all.I completely understand Dr.Frederickson's decision. My opinion is that the midwife who attended me had nothing left but her reputation. She did not care for my or any other patient's well being. It is time for her to retire.

Doctor Frederick obviously had to make a very difficult decision of downsizing his practice and letting go of his midwives. All the pregnant women who are giving him and his practice such horrible reviews obviously have not met this gentle, kind and wonderful doctor. You cannot judge someone unless you have walked in thier shoes. Hold your vapid comments. Your cruel statements can ruin someones reputation. It is completely unjustified. Think of the damage you are doing to someone who has done you no wrong.

I picked Isis only because of Margaret, thier midwife, who delivered my DD. I found out I was pregnant at 10 weeks and had to wait 2 weeks for an appt. A week later I began to bleed and feared a miscarraige. When I called the office crying I was told that since I hadn't had my 1st appt. I wasn't considered a patient yet and to go to the ER. I was told that IF I was still pregnant and could PROVE IT by having ER records sent over then maybe they could squeeze me in later in the week. So I sat in the ER for 6 hours exposing myself and potentially my child to all kinds of diseases to find out that I was losing the baby. It was the worst day of my life and the receptionist was cold and uncaring. I would never use this OB even if I was still pregnant. I am so glad the midwives left!

I chose Isis OBGYN for their midwives and for the for the oppty to have a water birth at North Fulton Regional Hospital. I did not chose Isis for Dr. Hughnan Frederick. I am 27 weeks pregnant and have learned that Dr. Frederick has decided to no longer offer midwifery services at Isis. Why? Who the heck knows? Will his practice succeed in the long run? Unlikely since he seems to be willing to treat me and so many other pregnant women with such disregard. I fear this decision will haunt Dr. Frederick's career in the long-run. What pregnant women can ever trust him?

I like many others - sought out Isis Obgyn for the opportunity to have a midwife assisted waterbirth in a hospital. At 27wks I am also left to scramble with the midwives as they head someplace where they can do what they do best. Not the sort of transition any woman entering her 3rd trimester should have to deal with. While I enjoyed most of the nurse/admin staff - there was always an obvious air of disorganization. But what do you expect from a practice who at every turn seemed to be letting go another qualified well-respected midwife. The ones left were taking on too many patients in the wake...and now this. I would not recommend ANYONE to Dr. Fredericks practice - his ethics should be in question to anyone who values quality care and consideration.
