Dr. Frederick is out of his mind!

A year ago, I thought Isis was the best OB ever, thanks to the amazing midwives, Kay and Margaret. But Dr. Frederick fired them both, leaving all the midwife clients completely in the lurch, with no care and no chance of the births they had planned. A doctor's ego yet again ruins the birth climate for women already deprived of choices. The office staff is horrid, and the head OB is a craven misogynist. AVOID!

Stay FAR FAR away from ISIS OB/GYN

If you are looking for an OB/GYN stay FAR, FAR away from ISIS.. This place is toxic. The environment there has taken a serious down turn. Yes, the midwives are leaving, and yes I'm sure that tensions are running high among the staff but it does not give the staff the right to treat their pregnant and vulnerable patients with a complete lack of respect. The office manager displayed the worst case of lack of professionalism that I have ever come in contact with. She treated me horriblly and left me in tears. If Dr. Frederick hires these people to run his office and then fires his midwives then there is something wrong. STAY AWAY!!!!

    Doing away with midwife staff

At 7 weeks, I selected ISIS because of their midwives. At 28 weeks, I found out that Dr. Hughan Frederick decided to do away with the midwife services. I think it's just awful to leave all of your patients in such a situation. I want a water birth & there are few practices who know how to deliver in water and at NF Hospital. It only confirms my initial thoughts that males have no business in childbirth. I doubt if he had had a child himself that he would ever even consider putting a woman in her 3rd trimester in a situation to have to switch care providers so late in her pregnancy. I'm sure there are many other women who are being put in a stressful situation for no real reason.

If you want the best possible care during your pregnancy, you'd be wise to avoid ISIS and Dr. Hughan Frederick. He fired all his midwives when I was 32 weeks along, giving all of us only 30 days notice. I'd rather die than have him assist in my birth.

THe midwives of Isis really believe that a woman's body was made to birth. Diane helped me to follow my own body through an empowering, completely natural waterbirth at North Fulton. Wow! I actually enjoyed it!

Margaret Strickhouser is just the best midwife...our time with her was everything we wanted in a birthing experience. I recommend her to everyone who asks (and even those who don't!)...
