Good Plumbing Service too, 8/05/2014

My home warranty company sent J&S out for a toilet/plumbing repair. I was concerned because all other reviews were for HVAC, but they do plumbing as well. They sent Chris to our house (along with... his sidekick), and they did a great job. We had an improperly re-installed toilet after a flooring company installed laminate, so the toilet has been leaking under the floor. Chris removed, cleaned up, elevated the flange, applied new wax, and got everything fixed up as well as he could. (We'll eventually have to tear out all the floor and subfloor because the water damage is so bad, but Chris got us up and running again.) Chris did a great job being patient with my curiosity in the repair, and was very good at explaining everything. I would recommend Chris! (NOTE - Kudzu forced me to provide a rating for Value, but I can't really judge value since this repair was via my home warranty. Quality and Service were great though.)

Terrible Company, 6/30/2014

Please take your business somewhere else. Not only are these people extremely rude but they don't stand behind their work. Prior to moving into our house they came out and fixed a problem with the... A/C. 3 weeks after they had done work the same problem came back. Instead of standing by their work they told me too bad and to deal with it myself. This was even after I told them we had an infant in the house. There are so many A/C companies you have no reason to mess with a bad one.

Highly Recommend

I highly recommend J & S Mechanical. I had a problem with my Air Conditioner for almost 2 years, and it cost me much money through multiple service fees with different companies. But J &S Mechanical technician, Bill, found the problem in short period of time. He got “Skills”. I will not hesitate to use them again.

Recommend.

I have had great experiences with J&S. They were able to diagnose and fix the problem with my hvac when two other hvac companies had told me there was no issue with my hvac (even though the NEW unit would shut off sporadically or simply not turn on.) I was at my wit's end with my hvac unit when I contacted J&S based on a friend's recommendation. I live in a condo building, the unit was new, but it would shut off or not turn on. Horrible in the dead of summer and no A/C! They figured out it was the thermostat, changed it, and I haven't had a problem since. THANK YOU!

In response to are you kidding me...our insurance company has sent the building the homeowner lives in our information 3 times. the homeowner was rescheduled the week of the snow however the homeowner only allowed us to come on Tuesdays. We called the homeowner this morning to ask her if the building had all information and we could proceed with replacement, she then allowed our technicians to come to the home and allowed them to spend 2 hours at the property setting up the replacement, then proceeded to laugh at them and cuss them stating we have wasted her time so she felt like wasting theirs she also called the office staff curse words and cussed at the technicians, I understand we have had some negative reviews however we service an average of 600 customers a month and as you can see the majority are not dissatisfied with our skills. thank you for the time. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? response to response

Any smart person reading this ask yourself - why would someone who has no heat in the dead of winter make it hard for a contractor to complete the job? I have never been so disgusted by a company, or any person for that matter, in my life. RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, INDIFFERENT and SHADY are the best adjectives I've got for them. The owner is conniving, lacks any sort of customer service savvy and most definitely couldn't care less about anything but the excuses she can make up to bide more time. They have failed to produce the certs of insurance and business license required for their work. Ultimately after 3 weeks of waiting for them to restore my heat, they never got it done and had no intention of doing so.

Save Yourself!

If I could give this company a -10 I would. Horrible, horrible, and horrible service. My home warranty company assigned these fine folks to come out and repair our furnace. I called the company after receiving the dispatch notification and was informed by the voicemail to email them if this was an emergency. Well, I did that -- email them. And, to my surprise, I received a response the FOLLOWING day. Thanks, J&S Mechanical Services, for your failure to respond in a timely manner to your clients. Once they finally responded, we were informed of the FIVE hour window they have, especially since it's the holiday season. Do yourselves a favor -- bypass this company. We have used them before, again because of our warranty company, and they were horrible then and horrible now. DO NOT USE.

great company

It isn't often you tell someone how well they did but in this case I made the time! I have 3 small children at my home with only 1 a/c unit they fixed it! I can't tell you how professional the office was i received a call and service very promptly. thanks to the technician Josh and the office staff for your help. They are great

Worst contractor experience ever.

Once J&S received payment for installing a new system, we were told there was a defective part and we couldn't turn it on or it would damage the new equipment. There was no urgency to get the system running. After waiting 7 days in the summer heat with no a/c and a small child, another contractor has been hired to get the units functioning. Owners were rude and extremely unprofessional. It was shocking. Try your luck with someone else, but bypass this co.

HORRIBLE

On 6-14-2013 J & S Mechanical Contractors came to my house via my home warranty company. 2 people came. Even though I spoke to their company directly about the problem - water in my crawlspace spilling out onto my floor from what I believed was a non-working HVAC condensation pump - they were surprised to find water on the floor and a crawlspace full of water and told me no one had told them; The were unhappy when I asked them to remove their wet/muddy shoes to not track water through my house when exiting the crawlspace AND when I was asked where the kitchen was (so that 1 of them could fill a jug of water to test the pump ?) and I told him to go upstairs (where the kitchen was) they both immediately LEFT. After about 30 seconds I followed them outside to overhear them on the phone with their office saying they were leaving because I was "too rude"!??? How exactly is answering the question on the location of my kitchen TOO RUDE?

Very professional and knowledgeable

My home warranty sent J&S out after another contractor failed to fix our system after 2 visits. These guys were very professional and knowledgeable and explained in great detail the exact nature of the problem and the steps required to fix it. He also recommended some things that I can do to make the system run more efficiently and reliably. I highly recommend J&S Mechanical and would definitely use them again.

Not our fault!

An appointment was scheduled through our warranty company. It was scheduled with a 7AM to 1PM time window. Received a call around 11:00 letting us know they would be in touch by 1:00, I called them at 2:30. They were at the stop before us. At 3:15 called and let them know we had to run out to pick up a child and would be back in 30 to 40 minutes. Was told they would be leaving job shortly and would be there about the same time. Called them back at 4:30 and was told, nobody was home and they had waited 20 minutes (nobody called us), so we had a missed appointment and they would call to reschedule either that evening or the next morning. I had to call them around noon the next day. They called me back to schedule, said they would be there the following day between Noon and 6:00. I told them that was fine and would have to call them back with a different phone number to call. Which I did, they said fine. Today for the appointment they called the two numbers that were not the number I had given them. Then said it was a missed appointment. They never came by the house, even though somebody was there. I was very upset with them and when I expressed this (sadly, I must say loudly) they tried to make it sound like both missed appointments were our fault. Then they called the warrant company and said they would need to get another provider because we had missed 2 appointments. I would never recommend them to anybody.

Great Service

Our home warranty company had J&S Mechanical come to our home to repair our A/C. They arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. Because they needed to order a part, it required a second visit. Given my work schedule they could not come back on Friday, so they sent the crew back on a Saturday to complete the repair. The young men that performed the work were extremly courteous and polite. I was very pleased with the service.
