I recently had the pleasure of using the service of Attorney Joycelyn Curry. I found her on line and selected her because of her years at a lawyer. Because she is a young lawyer, I knew that she would do a good job. Unlike some of the older law firms who have forgotten just what good customer service is suppose to be. I took a gamble and I was right. Attorney Curry took the time and explained things to me in terms that I could understand and she made sure that I did indeed understand. When we went to court we were prepared. She always made sure I was comfortable and she was always well researched. She kept me informed by emails and phone calls as well as the US Mail. Everything was covered and I felt very confident in having her represent me. My family has decided not to use another lawyer unless our needs are something that she does not cover. If you ever need a lawyer, this young lady is the one for you.

Probably fine for a cookie-cutter bankruptcy, but too many things caught her by surprise on my case and cost me a lot of money. Two examples: 1. Advised me that there was no need to move my checking/savings accounts to a new bank. As a result, a cross-collateralization clause in my credit union accounts allowed them to seize $3000+. Her response was that she had never seen a credit union exercise one of these clauses and "they were just being mean." 2. Failed to follow up on reaffirmation of my home loan or inform me that it had to be filed prior to discharge. I found out by accident when I called my mortgage company to check on the status of the reaffirmation. I had them fax the paperwork to Joycelyn, called to inform her of the emergency, and rushed to try and get it submitted on time. The mortgage company got the paperwork the same day my discharge was issued, which was too late. Now none of my payments will be reported to the credit bureaus or count toward rebuilding my credit score. Bottom line - if you choose to use Curry Law for a bankruptcy, thoroughly research the details of your own case. Read message boards, blogs, and anything else you can get your hands on. Do not assume she has all the bases covered, rely on her to spot the "gotchas," or give advice on steps you can take to protect yourself. Joycelyn is a nice person with a big heart. If that was the only quality required to be a good attorney she would definitely get 5 stars. Unfortunately, I needed more.

We are very satisfied with the way J Curry Law Group handled our case. They promptly answered our questions and returned phone calls. They explained the steps that would be taken and discussed any options that were available. Their organizational skills were exceptional. From our experience, J Curry Law Group is reliable and caring. If we should need legal advice in the future, we would not hesitate to call on them again.
