We had heard great things about this place, and showed up for Open Mic night. What a disappointment! The music is performed in an alley at the back. It was cold and raining, the only cover is plastic sheeting. The performers were terrible (apart from one act). A young girl boasted that she had trained as a singer for 6 years, then proceeded to murder "Bobby Magee" - the worst singing I have ever heard! The coffee was okay, nothing special. Restrooms are disgusting!! I will not be back!

This is a great coffee shop if you want more than just coffee. They have a great atmosphere, live music, poetry reading, the works. I live close by and frequent it often.

The Java Monkey has great coffees, and you can enjoy some wine and snacks as well. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly.

Java Monkey combines a few of my favorite things: good coffee, good conversation, and good music. This is a chill place to do some work or catch up with friends. There are plenty of cozy places to sit, and tasty treats to order. The crowd that gathers here is awesome. I love the live acoustic music & wine selection.
