I recommend Dr. Jay highly. He has helped me more than any other doctor I have ever had. He cares about his patients. He offers suggestions for a healthy lifestyle that has benefitted me greatly.
The wait time was really long even though I could hear the doctor talking about something he was reading on his computer. This "doctor" doesn't care about his patients or if he does, you wouldn't... know it. He was all over the place talking to me and on his cell simultaneously. He had three dogs in his office, one was barking, second one was running down the hallway and third one was scratching his back on the chairs and letting out gas. So unprofessional... While I was getting a treatment in the room I heard him screaming and cursing at his staff.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

I like the fact that he knows what's going on with you just by looking at you. I took some of his advice and feel so much better. Lost a lot of weight and have very little to no health problems. But, I don't like the way he operates and I am surprised that he has not lost his license yet. He does just give you treatments without explaining why, he does just sell you suppliments without explaining why. He and his staff carry on conversation about your health and treatment in the open at the front counter in front of other patients. I know it has been mentioned but he does not seem to care about your personal privacy. His staff told me one day that it shouldn't matter everyone has the some issues. So dam what! I don't care to discuss in front of your or anyone else. So you might have to put them in their place in order to get some good infomation. Okay happy heath:-)

Jay did not explain the cause of my neck pain during my 1.5 hour visit, but he quized me extensively on my intake of PRILOSEC (omeprazole) instead. He spent 15 minutes telling me Prilosec is a base that neutralizes acidity, like antacid. When I corrected him that PRILOSEC (omeprazole) is Proton-pump inhibitors (PPIs), he tried to demeaned me by saying "you look like a smart person, you should know Prilosec is a base!" I wanted to give him a chance regardless of the negative reviews here, the 5-star reviews lured me in the door...but when he told me his marriage failed due to lack of honesty, I knew I am dealing with a unstable mind. He told me he loved me and wanted to meet my husband in a strange friendly manner. His staff put things in my mouth and nose without offering explanations, I had to stopped them for explanation before I accpeting treatment. The staff is friendly but they don't come across professional. The dogs are cute, but they don't belong in a health care environmet! I love dogs, but others may be allergic to dogs. With the amount of talents in the market, I didn't want to give him a second chance. I like my health provider sensible and professional, hence I called today and cancelled my next appointment.

I have never felt better and had such consistently great service as I had with Dr. Hammer and his staff. I knew all of them by name and even though they see a good number of patients a day, I think they all remembered mine. Very seldom do you find people who are really genuine. You will find that in Dr. Hammer and his staff. I am glad I got the referral from my sister. Okay, just one worry... I am allergic to pet dander--I mean REALLY allergic and usually, I let people know right away, NO PETS! But, after Dr. Hammer and his staff went as far bending over backwards for my treatment and services as they do, I forgot all about all that and I never had a problem. Honestly, I was just never bothered. And, when I began feeling better and better, I even started calling Molly by name.

I could go on and on about this "doctor". I've always been skeptical of chiropractors and he has totally proven me right. First, while in the waiting room all I hear is this "doctor" screaming at his staff, cursing, and even calling a patient an idiot. Not long after, he berated a woman right in front of me because she had her child with her. He went as far as to curse in front of the child. That's just the beginning. You go back into the room and are instantly criticized and have tests done that he offers no explanation of their meaning. He gives you a huge list of dos and do nots, but don't ask for his reasoning because he has none. I think this guy is a quack, but even if he was a totally legitimate doctor I'd never return based on his attitude and appalling behavior that I witnessed. Find someone else, there are plenty out there that are respectful to the patients who put money in their pockets.

I went for a skin issue and for pain at the base of my spine. I had been to holistic Dr's and wanted to give Dr. Hammer a try. I got to the office, gave them my insurance info, and sat down to read. I overheard an assistant talking to my insurance company, mention my name, and something about a deductible I would have to pay. More about this insurance situation later, though. When I was eventually taken back to see the doctor I had to strip down and put a gown on, which is fine. An assistant came and led me out to get an x-ray done. To get to the x-ray, I had to walk in plain view of the waiting room and office staff, and I'm wearing nothing but my boxers and a gown. After the x-ray the assistant took my saliva PH with a PH strip. She never let me see the strip, but just told me to wait in the room and she disappeared. 15 min later the doctor comes in to see me again. He tells me my body PH is TOO BASIC. READER - PLEASE do some research on any holistic medicine website or book, and you will see that the more basic your PH is, the better. I made him repeat what he said because I wanted to make sure I heard correctly. He said it again, and his assistant would later tell me the same thing. They have it backwards. We looked at the x-ray and he told me I had 5 pounds of waste stuck in my intestines. I don't know if that's true or not, but I'm quite thin and 25 yrs old, and eat only organic fruits, veg, and no junk food... The Dr. then put on this act CONTINUED

Dr Jay is not your typical chiropractor... he not only knows the bones, he knows the muscles and the body as a whole. yes the supplement push and the restrictive diet he wants you on are a little much if you aren't used to eating healthy but most American's eat so poorly and are afraid of change. He has cured me of MANY ailments and pains...he really knows what he is doing. Most of these negative comments are from mainstream, poor eating. probably overweight people who couldn't and wouldn't change their poor diets if they tired. I love Dr. Jay... once you get used to his different personality you will too... that is if you want to get well and be HEALTHY!

I've been using chiropractors for over 10 yrs now & I can see why 1st time patients may be intimidated by Dr. Jay. Sometimes he fails to listen to all of your symptoms & thinks he can fix it all. I've had a re-occuring shoulder pain that he thinks he's fixed but hasn't & I've even been to the accupuncture & massage therapist...I'm still experiencing the pain but have never taken any aspirin. I'm going to try a different chiropractor to see if I get better results. Other revievers were right, he's very high maintenance and bosses his staff around in front of patients. Molly the dog is his baby & she's always sleeping in her bed when I was there but I can see how that would seem strange to have it at your practice. I've been to him over 2 yrs now & I've gotten used to his personality. I practice hollistic medicine so I like that aspect of his practice. I live a healthy lifestyle so incorporating his changes weren't difficult for me but if you're like the regular person eating pretty much anything you want; it is very difficult to adjust to the diet he wants you to be on. You have to take baby steps. His prices are higher than any other chiropractor that I've seen. I think if you're in constant pain and need a lifestyle change then you may want to give him a try but just know that he may lecture you at first.

Dr. Jay Hammer is a very qualified and caring health-care provider. Dr. Jay teaches a lifestyle which requires discipline and commitment rather than the "quick fix" so many people are used to. If your looking to keep your vices, such as coca-cola, than you should probably see a traditional doctor and get some meds like most of America. You might also consider dialysis in a few years!

Dr Jay has not only changed my life, but also the lives of many of my friends and family that I have referred to him. My mom was having one health issue after another. Dr Jay helped her to change her diet and it had tremendous results. She was able to reduce the number of medicines she was on and her energy level sky rocketed. If you are sick and tired of feeling sick and tired go see Dr Jay and do what he says. You won't regret it. Of course you can always go back to your PCP for more drugs. And yes, Molly might lick your face if you are lucky.

Dr. Jay is very friendly and works wonders. He does talk about diet and offers vitamins and supplements, but if you are upfront and honest with him he won't force them on you. All you have to say is no - he may disagree with you but will not push the issue. He also welcomes you back with open arms each time you stay away for long periods of time. I think he is a great chiropractor and if I could I would visit more often. I recommend him to friends and co-workers.

I had never heard of Dr. Jay Hammer until I heard him speak on the radio. I thought he gave excellent advice in reference to identifying what causes the problem so you know how to fix it. I think this is vital in healing the body. Ask yourself why have you come to the Chiropracter in the first place. Most people don't want to have to pay for services such as these forever so he suggests what is good for the body and how to prevent the problem. Dr. Hammer gave some really good advice on how to handle certain problems such as diabetes, asthma, chewing ice, eating grits, eating salads and fried foods. I thought he gave some excellent advice and I would recommend him to others. I think the largest problem that we face is that we don't what to admit to our faults and bad eating habits and when you are criticized on your habits most are in denial and don't want to make a change. "His advice is not about fixing my back", but take heed to what the good Dr. is saying and you just might learn something. And I would like to conclude with this, if he hasn't already done so I would like for him to write a book about his wealth of knowledge and share it with those who are facing health issues.
