Smooth Transaction
I recently took my BC Rich Warlock guitar, that had stopped working, to Jim's to get repaired. John told me what was wrong and gave me an estimate of about $50 to repair it and told me it should be done by Saturday. I come home from school the next day and got a call saying it was already done. I picked it up and the total cost I had to pay was 53.50, pretty close to his estimate. I'll deffinately become a regular customer and I look forward to taking a few lessons.Great little shop, excellent work quality.

Take your guitar needs to Jim's
I'm a new guitar player and a bit older (past 60), but Jim and John treat me right. Jim set up a new Martin dreadnought, lowering the action (the bill was $0) and later did repairs on a vintage Martin 00-16C that I bought. You can't even see the crack that it had and it sounds unbelievably beautiful/easy to play with the new nut, setup, and strings he chose for it. All delivered with instant friendship and very reasonable prices. Jim and John always have some interesting guitars for sale too. It's a bit of a drive for me to get there, but well worth it.

Absolutely the best
I've been playing guitar since I was 8 years old, I started taking lessons from Jim, 16 years later, Jim's is still the best guitar store I know of in the Pittsburgh Area, and can definitely compete with some of the bigger stores. While it's a small shop, Jim and John's ability to make and Repair guitar's is unmatched. They are the only guy's I trust my prized guitars (an original 1967 blueflower telecaster, and my srv signature strat, and my Martin 000x-1 auditorium sprucetop) with. Anytime somebody asks me where to go for a great Instrument at a Great Price, I tell them about Jim's...

My Favorite Guitar Guys!
I've been getting work done from Jimmy and John for several Years now and still do even though I live in Los Angeles. Each time I come home to visit, I always have Jimmy fix something else of mine, or ask my parents to drop something off for them to work on while I'm away. Their repairs are just the best quality you can imagine. I've learned so much from them too, because they are tremendously knowledgeable about thier craft. I bought a handful of guitars from them throughout my years. One of which is my favored 1979 Fender 25th Anniversary Strat. Jim did so much great work for me over the years, it's hard to remember it all, but a few things of note are: putting graphite saddles and a bone nut on all my gigging guitars, helping me build a Warmoth Fender Licensed Strat from scratch down to cloth wires and a vintage capacitor, changing out broken pots, fixing my green Harmony that was cracked, Re-fretting both 1979 Strats making them feel 30 years worn yet brand new and shiny, De-fretting a Tele with the lowest non-buzzing action making it a beautifully playable fretless guitar, and just being the nicest guys you will ever meet music store and repairs aside. Just genuine great people. I consider Jimmy Relja my friend, and he also let me teach lessons at his store for a summer job. My friend from Los Angeles trusted my referral to totally re-set and re-fret and fix cracks in his 1928 Martin, and he got it back sounding better than he could have ever conceived! So, Jim's is definitely the place to go for repairs. Also a great place to buy a beginner guitar, high-quality professional/collectable guitar, amps vintage or new, and accessories all at very reasonable prices. Jim's Guitar Works is truly The Best self-owned guitar shop ever!...
