No blue crab. In fact, not a lot of crab variety (where you really feel that CRAB is the star of the dish). The waitress was quite anxious to share her opinion of the crab varieties. "That one tastes... ummm... more fishy than I like." "Most people don't really like that one, too much, because they don't like the sauce." "People complain that there's too much breading on the shrimp, so I wouldn't order that one." "Really, the only dishes we have that we get great feedback are the more expensive ones." (Maybe she wanted us to purchase the more expensive items so she could get a larger tip.) Nonetheless, it's pretty sad when the waitress feels she has to be honest and warn customers that certain menu items are below par. My mother and I were in the mood for seafood, so we stopped at Joe's. The parking lot and the restaurant was nearly empty. For lunchtime on a weekday, that should have launched some pretty large red flags. Mom ordered coffee, and I ordered water with lemon. No lemon was delivered. We plowed through the menu. THEN, WE SAW THE PRICES! I imagine most people come here to drink alcohol, because a sober person would realize that there is something wrong. Read the 1 and 2 star reviews, and you will see that my points are valid. Mom and I both had a sip of our drinks and walked out the front door. So long, Joe.

Joes is a happy place to have seafood, some killer drinks (fish bowl) and sometimes not so quick service. Hit or miss. If it is crowded, so somewhere else.

I don't understand the attraction - the food is definitely below average and it seemed that every time my glass was empty, the below-average staff were singing and dancing around the restaurant. Not to mention you have to wait hours to get in. Not worth it.

Great place for kids, especially when its warm out! They have a great outdoor play area. There are too many fried things on the menu -- food is just ok. The last time I was there (3/2006), it was so crowded that the wait staff didn't have time to dance around the restaurant and entertain which was a disappointment.

The service was ok. I just discovered that Joe's crab shack now brings out salad with all meals. The salad has a light dressing on it that is very good. The seafood on average is ok, but my visit on 5/7/06 can be defined as overgrilled, dry shrimp. The Steampot offers a decent combination, but when it was brought out was cold, not how a steaming dish should be served.

Not a huge fan of the food, love the atmosphere. Wish they had more baked items and not so many combinations of fried stuff. My husband has a favorite dish so he is set, I just haven't found one yet.

The wait takes forever, the salad was fresh out of a bag, the food is overpriced and if you want anything that isn't fried or drenched in alfredo sauce you will be hard pressed to find it.
